Wake Forest is ready to right the ship after that 6 turn-over fiasco against Navy a week and a half ago. They also have a little revenge factor going here. Last time the Tigers were in Winston-Salem, they scored 24 unanswered points to beat the Deacs 27-17. They also want to get Coach Grobe his 50th win. It will be a sold-out stadium, granted it IS a small stadium, but Grobe has brought life to Wake Forest football. It should look like Halloween night with all that black & orange there. Listened to Grobe's radio show Tues, he said they had the best week of practice all year this week. Just hope that carries over to tonight. Started raining late Wed afternoon & rained light all night and it is supposed to rain lightly pretty much all day tapering off by late afternoon. Artificial turf is pretty new and drains great.
The best kicker in the NCAA, Sam Swank is a game time decision. Hurt his leg in practice, but word is he'll play. If he doesn't, the back-up has a real strong leg also. Look for the Deacs to get off to a good start and IF they do, they will throw at opportune times and mix in some end-arounds to keep the Tigers defense guessing. The rushing game for Wake to say the least is not good. I think they rank something like 110th or so in the nation. I really believe they improve on that tonight. Skinner will not try to force things like he did against Navy. If the Deacs can keep a balanced attack, they will beat Clemson by 7-10 pts. I look for a score of something like 27-17 Wake.
