NFL YTD 7-4 +3.5 units
2* 2-1 +1.8 units
1* 5-3 +1.7 units
NFL/CFB Combined 26-14 +14.2 units
2* 7-3 +7.4 units
1* 19-11 +6.8 units
I went 1-1 in the NFL yesterday with a fantastic pick on the Cardinals and an atrocious one on the Seahawks. This is my strongest play, pro or college, of the weekend. I posted it earlier when I had to buy the juice but you can now get it at at normal odds. I will, however, charge myself the extra juice if it loses (it won't).
2* Saints -3 (-120)
New Orleans is much better than people think. First of all, their offense is almost unstoppable with 111 points in four games. Secondly, their 2-2 record is a little misleading as their loss at Washington no longer looks bad (who knew the Skins were this good?) and the other one was a near miss at Denver. They killed a decent Tampa team at home and are in the middle of a rare three game homestand. They only have Oakland next and should be fully pumped for this. Minnesota's QB situation is awful---Jackson was so bad he had to be dumped for Gus Frerotte and now Frerotte is banged up. Frerotte had only a 66.8 QB rating last week. There is one problem with my pick---Minnesota has a great run game and the Saints can't stop the run. However, if New Orleans gets a lead with its big passing offense it may force the Vikings to throw to stay in the game. In a higher scoring game, I like the Saints by at least 10.
Baseball:
I had a huge day yesterday, hitting a 2* on the Phillies and a 1* on the +161 Angels. My goal of a +15 unit season is still possible but time is running out. Unfortunately, the best I have today is a mild opinion on the Angels.
