    Playing College Football Week 6

Top Plays are 6-2 so far to date

Wednesday 10/1/08 .. On Monday I posted Boise St. -21 or -22 over La. Tech as a Top Play

    *********

    Thursday:

    Regular : UAB +3 over Memphis … look for +3 ½ or a +4

Opinion : Utah -11 over Oregon St. ( almost a Regular play )

    *********

Friday: A Regular on Marshall +3 over Cincinnati … look for +3 ½ or +4

    **********

    Saturday:

    Top Plays :

Iowa +8 to defeat Michigan St.

    Iowa State +13 over Kansas

    Auburn - 4 over Vanderbilt

    Ohio +6 over Western Michigan

Kentucky + 17 over Alabama … I truly believe that Alabama is the best team in the nation , with the best coach in NCAA Football. If Alabama were to play Oklahoma for it all , a huge bet on The Tide would have to be made … Saban has outsmarted Stoops in the past and would do it again.

    - But this game with Kentucky is going to be a lot closer one might than expect , possibly going right down to the final gun.

Leaving all emotions aside, my pick is Kentucky +17 in a very tough game for The Tide. Make it a Top Play

    Regular Plays :

    Virginia + 14 over Maryland

    South Carolina + 3
    over Mississippi

    Arkansas + 24 over Florida

Purdue + 13 over Penn State

    Navy +6 over Air Force

    Ball St. -7 over Toledo

    Akron -3 over Kent

UCLA - 17 over Washington St.

Stanford +7 over Notre Dame ... I like what Jim Harbaugh is doing for his team ... we were on The Cardinal last week and will stick with them in this game.

    Opinions:

    Illinois +3 over Michigan

Ohio State -2 at Wisconsin … The Buckeyes are The Penn St and Florida St of The Big 10 … crooked as all hell I like Wisconsin only a little but bear in mind that Ohio St. is very tricky to figure out … and for a long term profit as a rule of thumb , always play against the public with games involving Ohio St. See how the line moves on Saturday … this game is at 8:00 PM EST. If you like monitoring what sports services give out , go against them in this game , no matter which team they are touting. Oh and one other thing ... Mussberger will probably call the game and there's nothing worse that listening to his spiteful voice while your team is losing . Be careful with this one and again ... go against the Services and the public

USC - 16 vs. Oregon … I had to squint when I first saw this line … I couldn't believe how strong it is for USC , giving 16, over a well - coached talented team … so at first I liked USC . Then I got to thinking that most people are figuring they'll bounce back big after a swing and a miss at Oregon St.

My feeling is that the majority will be on USC, so take the points but only for a very light play.

    As Always ,

    Best of Luck

    -Neil

Like a bunch of Sat plays. Good Luck.

Question: Do you play any totals or only sides in college ball?

                    Thanks CB. Understood.

I just sometimes see myself having a harder time on the side then the total. But for the most part I am a side bettor as well in NCAAF. For example. I like the Iowa St +13 against Kansas play. Had it written down on Monday. Been looking at it this week. But the number is close to me. For Iowa St to be in this game, which we both believe they will, they will have to score I feel.

                    I see things like:

                    QB's with 65% and 70% Completion %
Both Offenses average 345 Yd game +
Both Defenses that let up 310 Yd game +
56% + of both teams offenses comes through the air
Defenses that create 1+ turnovers a game
Last two meetings between the two have been 52 and 51 points
Both coming off 60+ point totals last game.

All this being said not sure if I should take the side or the total over.

Hey Guys thanks for Bumping great hearing from y'all .

I hope everything is Great with you and family Kaptain Karl .. you're a super guy in so many ways. Send Regards for me .

Bill Mill ... you look at much more than I do with the colleges.

Believe it or not ... here's what I do each week :

For the NFL ... I have over 1,500 league and individual team systems and trends in my database. I go through every single one of them each week and on a printed schedule with lots of room for each game , I make my notes. Then by Wednesday I have all the work tabulated and grade each team and game.

Takes me over 20 hours ( sometimes even more ) but it is worth my time.

Rest assured that with every side and every total I have the historical edge , otherwise it's a no play.

My method stems from the following : Like most human beings ... Players , Teams , Coaches are all creatures of habit and how they perform is repeatable and therefore PREDICTABLE . That's the premise.

There is no emotion involved ... Ever ! Even though I love to rag on players and coaches in " Shooting From the Hip " the picks are never personal. e.g. Mike Holmgren is an over rated Idiot who piggy backed on Brett Favre's shoulders to become head honsho in Seattle. The man is incapable of writing a grocery list . But if my work indicates Seattle in any given game , then I do not hesitate for 1 second to pull the trigger.

Now for The Colleges ... It takes me 30 minutes !!! On Sunday nights I get the lines first flash for the following week. I go through each game line and when I see an unusual number which surprises the heck out of me ... that jumps up at me , I make the pick. I see the obvious side ( the side that will make the ordinary bettor drool with excitement ) and then I go the other way. So for the Colleges The Linesmaker gives me the game with his number ... he handicaps for me and he's the best in the world. I only have 10 or so college systems which I use, and 90% of the time they yield a no play. Once in a while I'll make a play on my own and it always is against a team which expended sooo much energy the week before in an emotional rivalry game ... e.g. I like Kentucky to give Alabama a real battle this week so I'm on them , even though the linesmaker's number didn't jump at me. But by and large I try not to make picks without The Linesmaker's Blessing.

I do use Systems for Bowl Picks ... I have great Bowl Game Systems.

                              Good Luck this Year Bill

Tech Fan ... it's great to hear from you ... always my loyal friend. Really hope we can make some money together this year ... it would be just like old times. I've been wanting to stay in touch but I don't have your email addy. I know you always read my stuff and I do hope you did something with The Dodgers for the post season. So far So Good ! Please take care of yourself, my friend ... and stay in touch.
