Stupidest thing in playoff baseball are these best of 5 series. Angels and Cubs win 97 and 100 games total in the regular season ALL FOR WHAT? To lose couple games and its all over. I mean in the regular season they even have 4 game series that are longer than these. Dumbest thing about post season bases are these best of 5 sets. The better team doesnt necessarily advance. Just the team who won a couple quick ball games. Why play 162 LONG ASS games for no reason only to shove a coupla quickies to decide your season. This is like having a best of 5 of 9 series in the NFL playoffs after only playing 16 regular season games...makes just as much sense IMO....

I agree that it should be best out of 7. Makes no sense when you only have 8 teams. I stick strong by my opinion that this is the exact stupidity of having something similar to a best 5 of 9 NFL playoffs series after only playing 16 regular season games. How dumb can MLB get. I bet half the upsets we see in the first round every year would not happen and it would allow the better team to advance in best of 7 as oppopsed to 5. Baseball teams arent built around urgency and having to force 3 wins RIGHT NOW or you are done. Thats why they play fucking 162 games!!! I am shocked it gone this long without it being changed seriously co-workers, family, aquainatance, friends I know a ton of other people that feel the same way as me about this issue...

Would it really matter if the Cubs played a 5, 7 or 9 game series? I don't think down 3-0, they would win a 7 game series either.Comment

CUBS just choked! There is nothing wrong with the set up. How would you explain them getting crushed 7-2 at home and 10-3 at home? Its not that the Cubs are a bad team, they just had a meltdown. I honestly thought they would atleast get the pennant but starting pitching and tmely hitting avoided them at the most costly time.Good,Honest Handicapping. You also can't just eliminate regular season games Chad. It isn't that easy. You are talking about taking millions out of owners pockets from tv and the gate. You are also talking about record books and other things that would be affected. That simply isn't realistic.
