  • The Houston Astros got screwed by MLB

SO when we had to makeup games RIGHT away at a neutral field with the CUbs in MILWAUKEE because the MLB didnt want to have games past the regular season finales I was pissed.. now im really pissed because there saying the Mets can make up the games after the season is over because of all this rain coming in, thats bullshit. The Astros got SCREWED by MLB. I hope for that, the Mets lose and the Brewers lose and we win the last games of the season and sneak into the playoffs by divine intervention.

Yea that was BS for the Stros in that series that should have been at home and was not. Crucial games that were lost and could have been different if it wasnt away from home IMO....

The Astros can blame their own owner Drayton McClain for that. He delayed as much as he could agreeing to playing in a neutral field because there was NO WAY that anyone was going to play in Houston for those three games during that devistation. It all came down to money because the games were sold out and if they had to play in a neutral field he would lose that gate revenue and have to refund the money to the ticket holders. So he hoped beyond hope that they could play saturday or sunday or monday, which was just stupid.

So instead....they had to leave it up to Bud Selig. He wanted to make sure they got at least two games in and play under a roof which limited the places to play to Minnesota, Tampa and Milwaukee and if my memory serves me correct Milwaukee was the only stadium open on that Monday.

Was it "fair" ? Probably not. But no one expected 25,000 cubs fans to travel to Milwaukee with less then a day's notice either.

Astros only have themselves to blame and their greedy owner.

You know I'm a cubbie homer....and I even thought having the games in Milwaukee was an advantage...but McClaine had ample time to make his decision, but he wanted to wait it out, hell he even said AFTER the hurricane hit with all the devistation that hit Houston and that area, that there was no structural damage at Minute Maid park and if the Cubs would have been there, they could have played!!!

a day LATER he relented and "thought of the people of houston" and said it probably wouldn't be the best of ideas to play games there in Houston.

They were all set to play in Atlanta or St Louis Friday thru Sunday and it was the Astros choice, but the owner decided to delay delay delay

well yah you can blame the owner however, it's not the mear fact that they played in Milwaukee its the mear fact that the orginization said these games had to be made up now and not at the end of the season, now the exception is being made for the mets which shouldnt be.

Well why couldn't they be made up then? Just because you couldn't play in Houston which they KNEW ahead of time doesn't mean they couldn't make up the games somewhere else! It's a lot tougher to fit three games at the end of the season then three open days in september in my opinion.

And the Cubs/Stros still have to play on Monday if the Stros are still in wild card contention.

But I do understand what your saying. It's kind of a double standard.

I agree Houston got the shaft playing in Milwaukee as a home team when in reality this was a homer for the Cubs.,but dont blame the Brewers.
