Arkansas Vs Texas

I'm not an Arkansas fan, but losing Houston Nutt was a good thing for that program. As a fan of a local team that plays the Hogs, he was the perfect coach because he won enough to keep his job, but he always fielded a beatable team and had trouble keeping the best players in his own state. Within 2 days of Petrino's hiring, my team lost their top QB recruit for 2008 and lost a shot at a number of other top players in Arkansas. Arkansas will be better off in the next few years than they ever could have been with Nutt.

Not to be negitive against Arkansas or anything but I just seems like all the fans think its such a good thing that Nutt is gone and it was a good move and all that. How many years will Nutts new team that he took over this year better than Arkansas? I think they may be. Arkansas is kind of like Texas A&M. Schools to me, opinion only, need to keep coaching for a really long time. I just dont see those school competing against the rest in there confrence. They should shoot for no more than 2 to 3 losses but they are never happy with that. They seem to blam the coaches. Nutt could have stayed there and kept them to 3 losses some years.

Arkansas and A&M are a good comparison, but remember we are 2-1 vs yr horns since 00'! Yes if the Hogs only lose 2-3 games a year consistently Id still be very happy, but I really think Petrino has the program moving in the direction to the powerhouse we were in the 60's. The week of Texas has always been exciting to me from when I was a kid. Just wish we played every year. GO HOGS!!!!!!!!!!
