just walked back in, have no knowledge of score.....Grandson's (Landon) team won 7-3 today....Landon had 3 goals, and 4 assists....He shot on goal 9 times, and I think the Goal Post Pipes are damaged, as he hit em 5 times with a rocket....They had fun.....

good luck tonight my friend. i'm glad landon did so well at soccer !!! you're not a proud grandpa are you ??!!!! i'll be a grandpa by wednesday. if my daughter doesn't have the baby before, they are gonna induce labor !!! i think i'm a little excited !!!

Dave----I raised 6 sons, but spent plenty of time around the world working Nuclear Power Plants, and missed a lot of quality time with em....

They grow so fast, and next thing, you know---you're a GrandPa....

I love all 6 of my sons an awful lot (equally)....but there is something about them GrandKids....It's like you have a chance all over again.....I had no Girls, so I figured the 2 GrandGirls would wind up being spoiled by me....

Not so.....Landon is a clone of his DAD.....Between his Dad, and 5 Uncles, he's had plenty of good athletes around him to teach him basics, and work him hard...

As I said, he's like his DAD was/IS.....Comepetative....He works at being better.....

Yes I am a proud GrandPa due to his athleticism, but more proud cause he'll tell you thank you, please, may I, yes sir, no sir, etc....He's very Polite, and that's rare today...

In essence, he's my eyes, and I'm in Hog Heaven when I'm around him watching TV, Soccer, helping him with his homework, talking with him, etc...

Enjoy your Grand Kids also my man, cause they grow up fast also.....

You'll see what I'm talking about when that GrandKid gets old enough to hang around with PAW PAW.....

Kapt., Thanks for the advice. I am divorced and my daughter chose to live with me when she was 9. Talk about tough - me trying to raise a girl when all I've done is coach and be around young men and now I had to try and raise a young lady !!
I look back at her pictures and then I look at her and all I see is "Daddy's little girl" and I can't believe that she is having a child !!! I told her she couldn't go out until she was 35 so she must have gotten pregnant by the immaculate conception !!!
I can't wait for my grandson to be born. I envy you and those with grandchildren. But more than envy - I respect you because you make sure that you spend quality time with the grandkids. In todays "hustle and bustle" world, too many adults forget about the kids, and I really respect those that make sure they spend quality time with the young ones. I don't know if Gunnar Michael - thats my grandsons name - will play sports (I think he will though ) but I hope he grows up like your Landon with yes sir, no sir, and respect for others. Thats SO important.

Tell Landon to keep knocking the soccer goal posts down !!!

WOW---I like the name....

No doubt in my mind he'll be an athlete, BaseBall preferably, and plenty of love and time with GrandPa.....

Make sure you're there when he catches his first fish and get a picture of it....

I was there for all 6 sons, and all 3 GrandKids first fish, have pics, and they all remember that day well.....

That was my time for bonding with Dad/GrandPa....

You're a good man Dave.....hang with em, and make lil Gunnar like you....
