Hey guys, been managing to do really well without posting, seems like whenevr I post I lose, however, Im breaking that bad omen right now, the power of the gods are banned from this posting LOL. Here's tonights games that I'm on. GL either way you go.
MLB:
Houston Astros -110 $110.00 to win $100.00
Let's put it this way. I'm an Astro's fan. They still feel like they have a shot. Just 5 games back with who knows what the hell will happen with Philly/NYM's and of course Milwaukee. The time is now, they must win every game for the rest of the season to even remotely have a chance. This offense is going to come alive tonight and what better way to end the season for the Stro's with the Pirates, Reds and Braves. None of those teams in playoff contention. My personal pet peeve is every betting baseball team at home at a pickem. More times ive won with this theory. Why bet a team that gets no respect at home? Clearly there's a reason why a team is a pickem at home. These are easy traps for the home team. Wolf has been phenomanal against the Pirates in his carrer, 6 wins, 1 loss and has already beaten them this year. Snell not so good this year and not good in his career vs the Stros. Stros need a statement game, tonight's the game, great value.
Florida +110 $100 to win $110.00
Florida will never get respect eh? They've just swept a HOT Houston Astros team and they are home with one of these biggest surprises of the year, Josh Johnson. If the Marlins had a healthy Josh Johnson all season and a healthy Anibal Sanchez all season they could be giving the Mets and Phillies a run for their money. Isnt that the story with a bunch of teams. Johnson however looks GREAT. 5-1 in his short stint thus far this year, has looked great in all the games he's pitched in. The Marlins bats are alive. They are going to be like a brick wall for Philidelphia tonight. The mere fact that Philidelphia is favored is because Philidelphia cannot afford to lose this game and the hottness of the club as of late as well... all streaks come to an end and looks like the momentum for the Marlins and the fact that they get Brett Myers at home should be enough to pull off this "upset." Brett Myers let me remind you was pitching in Triple A earlier this season. He's a head case. Florida wins here.
Minnesota +100 $100 to win $100.00
Edwin Jackson is garbage. His numbers against the Twins are horrendous. Tampa Bay doesnt HAVE to win tonights game and the Twins HAVE to win tonights game. Nick Blackburn will give them a good chance to win tonight. The career numbers for Edwin Jackson against the Twins are 0-2 with an 18.90 ERA. Could be a high scoring affair but the Twins will want it more tonight. I dont give homefield advantage to the Rays because 20 people show up for there games even though they are in 1st place.
Washington +120 $100 to win $120
My guy still has San Diego -140 so Im rollin with Washington and trying to get a sneak play in. However, I like the game still at -140. San Diego is horrible especially on the road (24-51.) Washington bats have come alive and Balester is a good young rookie as well, his record doesnt indicate it because he pitches for Washington. They lose a lot of 2-1 games, and 2-0 games and 3-0 games, which doesnt help a pitchers record at all.
Arizona -110 $110.00 to win $100
Im still waiting for Arizona to break out with a 10+ run game. Scherzer is a really good young pitcher and with some offense should be able to win tonight. I am not a believer in Jorge De La Rosa. I don't think anybody should be a believer. Doesnt help that he pitches in Colorado but thats besides the point. Again, pickem at home I would not go with Colorado. Colorado might be trying to spoil all hopes for Arizona but Arizona NEEDS to win each and every game they play. If they can get everyone playing and a good outing by Scherzer they should have no problem tonight against De La Rosa and the disappointing Colorado Rockies.
San Francisco +190 $100 to win $190
Ya know, 10 years ago this would have been an AMAZING friday night matchup. Unfort... it's 2008 and both pitchers have been very lackluster all season long. Greg Maddux is 7-12 with a 4 ERA, Barry Zito is 9-16 with a 5 ERA. Money well spent right? Wrong. I love Barry Zito. I went to a playoffs game one year where he was pitching and he was phenomanal, I have to face the facts its not the same Barry Zito. His curveball is incredible. I had seats right behind the catcher and each time he would throw the curve it looked like it was going to come in the stands and it just drops right in there. This is just SICK that Greg Maddux can be favored by -220 (-230, -235 in some books.) I know it's the Dodgers and they have to keep winning to lock up the National League West but come on. Nothing like a little Zito action to mess their magic number up. All im saying is -220 or -230 is way too much to lay on Greg maddux I don't care WHAT offense is behind him. The value is +190 on Barry Zito.
College Football:
Baylor +13 -110 $110.00 to win $100
This is a funny game. Who has Connecticut played yet? Their undefeated and theyve played nobody. Baylor isnt what you would call a powerhouse but this is Connecticut's first true test. Yes Connecticut is home and as youve seen the past two nights being home plays a big part of college football. However, I think UCONN can win this game but I think 13 points is a lot of points for a team that hasnt proven themselves yet. I can see like a 3 pt-4 pt, maybe even a touchdown between the two teams, but 13 points is a lot of points for a team that has yet to play a legit team. All this hype on Connecticut, I don't believe it. UCONN College Basketball thats a diff story, their college football program is garbage. They'll win tonight, but not by 13.
