As a Sox diehard for 51 years,I can say there was no defense for what Martinez did yesterday to Garcia or Zimmer and certainly no reason for gesture pointing at his head.
Manny overreacted to the high pitch but he is not too bright anyways.
That being said, let us not forget that 1) Zimmer had no business going out there and 2)Clemens did some headhunting of his own with Piazza several years ago;lets call an ace and ace and a spade a spade.

I agree, Zimmer had no business going after Pedro, but, he's a "old school" type, eye for and eye sort.

I don't condone what Clemens did to Piazza that was totally uncalled for, after he hit a grand slam off of him earlier in the game. I believe, however, that he was suspended and fined for his actions.

Pedro, at the least, should have been ejected from the game, if not for throwing at Garcia, then for the whole Posada incident.

BTW, a number of batters have been hit the past few years in this series, I think the number ratio is 3 Yankees to 1 Red Sox.

Time will tell what the retribution will be for yesterday. The reaction to Pedro's "bombing" in the 4th inning, proved who the classier professionals were.

Bobt-I despise the actions of any pitcher who throws at a hitter including Martinez; if in ump's judgment, he threw at Garcia and kicked him out of game, I might have been worried about impact it might have on outcome, but in all fairness I could not complain.

Yes, you never want the outcome of a game left to an umpires call or a referee's whistle. However, being a pitcher in college, I understand Pedro's logic, it's not the first time he's done this to the Yankees, but, hey, this is not a game at the beginning of May, it's game 3 of the LCS. IMO, he left his hitters and team in a severe disadvantage.

Pedro and Ramirez are pansy asses, what Clemens did to Piazza was also wrong. I lost all respect for both of those guys for the actions yesterday. I was pulling for Them in the Series and can't stand NY but I hope Boston gets the shit beat out of them in the series and Pedro gets a massive fine and suspension for that stuff. Agree Zimm was wrong to but Pedro had no need to do that to a 72 year old man, he could have killed him. Broken hip anything and Zimm could possibly never recover at that age. I just wish Pedro had to bring his ass up to the plate, Mr tough ass piece of shit...
