I went 4-1 last week in CFB, including a 2* win on Oregon State. The only loss was a misguided pick on Ohio State. I'm playing the following games now at the lines listed below (current as of this writing). I'm considering a couple of others but believe I may get a better line later. I'll add any additional plays in this thread.
2* Alabama -9
Alabama is a very good team with an outstanding defense. Arkansas is terribly inexperienced and barely got by two much smaller schools and could easily be 0-2. Even on the road, Alabama towers here. This is a bad line. Grab it.
1* Notre Dame +9
Apparently ND's thrashing of Michigan (a winning pick for me last week) hasn't convinced bettors this is 2008, not '07. This is a much more experienced team than last year's disaster and the incredible talent (Jimmy Clausen will be great) is starting to show. Michigan State is a decent team and is at home but ND is getting way too many points.
1* UNLV -2 1/2
UNLV is one of the most improved teams in the country and gets Iowa State after it played very hard in the annual cross-state grudge match with Iowa. UNLV stayed with Arizona State on the road the whole game and pulled out a dramatic OT win. This is an emerging team with a chance to smack an inferior opponent at home.
1* San Jose State +9 1/2
Stanford is much improved but this is way too many points for them to lay in a rivalry game against a decent opponent with a great coach. SJ crushed San Diego State last week and SD took a strong Notre Dame team to the wire the week before.
Opinions only:
Ball State (best team in the MAC)
Ohio U. (three tough losses; due to pull an upset)
NFL:
I'm playing these two now at these numbers and will write them up later.
2* Bills -9
