Some fan...you obviously forgot about the other 8 or 10 losses the last 2 months due to the shit BP that would crush most other teams and you call them out as heartless after they lose tonight.

Were they heartless when thier Ace blew a 2-0 lead and lost the first of 2 to the Braves and they won that night with a rookie starter on Saturday?

Or when the pen blew a 3-0 lead in 8/30 to the Marlins and then bounced back to win the last game of the series and then sweep the Brew Crew?

Or when they blew a 7-0 lead to the Phils on 8/26, only to come back and when th enext game afte rbeing down in the 8th?

Or when they lost a devastating afternoon game to Piisburgh on 8/18 only to run off 4 straight wins.

Should I keep going.....????

SO What?????? mets don't make playoffs. its a complete meltdown 2 years in a row. you don't live in new york, you don't have a clue the pressure the mets are under to make the playoffs after last years choke of the century in MLB. dealing with all the yankee fans in the city. year in , year out. they gave away 2 huge games this weekend and lost to lowly nationals in a game they needed tonight. so i'm 100% right that the choke is on in their heads.

Should they beat the Nats, yes...but they aren't going to win every game. They are 5-1 against the Nats the last month. I don't have an issue with that.

You're right - I don't live in New York, but I've been involved in athletics ALL my life, from playing, coaching etc.
I also know a few pro athletes in baseball and football. The players put enough pressure on themselves BECAUSE they are competitors - it has NOTHING and I mean NOTHING to do with the media. When they play, do they sometimes feel that no matter what they do, nothing goes right - ABSOLUTELY. Just like the line in the movie "Replacements" - its like being in quick sand.

The Mets or the Cubs or the White Sox didn't give away ANY games this weekend - the teams they were playing took them. Even though the teams they play might be out of the playoffs, they will not roll over and play dead BECAUSE those guys in the other uniforms are competitors also. There is a MAJOR pride and ego involved when you play or coach any type of ball. Don't believe there isn't because anyone involved HATES TO LOSE - thats one reason they are where they are.

I'm not really ragging you buddy but don't think that ANY of these players are "choking" because of the media pressure because its not true. Sometimes it just seems like you are playing in "quick sand"

Call it heart or whetever you want, but when you have the worst BP in the league, the most important part of a MLB team IMO, it's actually amazing they're in 1st place at this pt in the season. BP productivity really has nothing to do with heart.

I'm sorry for even getting involved in this but it does annoy me when players are accuse of "choking" during baseball games. Baseball is the ONLY game where you make MILLIONS of dollars for failing 7 out of 10 times when you hit.

Do players sometimes not perform the way they want to - of course and that happens in ALL sports. You can call it "choke" or whatever you want but it also has something to do with the other guys on the other side.
The Angels have the best record in baseball and they have ONLY won 61% of their games.
I love reading other people accuse players of choking when the people writing it don't even know what the difference is between a 2 seam fastball and a 4 seam fastball.
And if they do know the game, they wouldn't write about anyone "choking" and having no "heart" because maybe they've "been there and done that"
