For the record Northcoast;s record on Games of the Month last few years is 10-2 and games 4 1/2*'s or 5* 12-4.
If you can't win with that, you can't win.
So please no more off the cuff remarks unless you can back it up.
Stay with the bigger plays(which you get for nothing) and you will be just fine.
In all fairness I am sure the two records I cited overlap, but still not to shabby.

I agree. If you have already purchased Northcoast's college picks for the season, you have a right to bitch. If not, just don't look at them anymore, then you won't have anything to bitch about! Play your own selections.

I don't do too much handicapping, neither the time nor the talent. I follow some people from this site (ez, wayne, etc.) and another site. However, it is my choice to play or not. Win or lose, I thank these guys for the time they put in and for trying to give us winners. If they lose, well, that's gambling. I still feel I have a better chance of winning with them than on my own.

Thanks to Phil, Jr. for taking the time to post...

well said....over the years ive done very well with their big plays....people dont understand that....short term view or they have just started following their top plays....believe me im pissed b/c this season has been a tough one for me simply b/c my 2 biggest bets have been their 2 5*'s....thankfully wildcat/animal continue to keep offsetting these NCoast losers...

...i love how they bitch at the college picks but they dont say a word about his NFL picks which are 9-9 winning weeks this season...........

btw, im not affliated with NCoast sports in anyway....and im probably just as pissed as the others out there...i just dont complain...seeing im not paying a single penny for their plays...

the heart of the northcoast problem is.......

i have been a northcoast player for 5 years , and the problem is that he falls in love with certain teams.......for example, he picked tenn. to win the SEC, washington to win the pac-10, pitt to win the big east, and nebraska to win the big 12

instead of paying attention to the fact that ennessee could have lost to marshall, was outplayed by florida, south carolina and auburn, he will not give up on them.......watch, he will take them all year

he did not used to be this way, obviously his pro bets are incredible this year, heading for 10 out of 10 winning weeks pending the ravens game

somehow he needs to get out of this marriage with crappy teams he predicts before the season

Two things to keep in mind:

Football outcomes depend heavily on turnovers and ref calls, both of which are unpredictable.

College team play is more dependent on emotion, much less consistent, and thus more unpredictable than the NFL. as unpredictable as the NFL is, it is still more predictable than college. With a small pool of teams to choose from, the greater consistency of NFL play makes handicapping them easier - both for the linesmakers and betteors. Tease plays (6 point 2 team) are better in the NFL than in college FB as the consistency is better.

NC makes their predictions largely on team/player analysis - rating each team on skill positions, line strength on both sides, run defense/offense, pass defense/offense, etc. These ratings are used to predict outcome. Bias can easily enter into player ratings and diversity of conferences can induce bias in statictics. A west coast team may have high pass ofense ratings because of weak defenses palyed against, while the opposite is true of some east coast teams, for instance. It is hard to predict what happens when the two meet.

I think NC ratings of college players is biased and this is reflected in poor predictions.

            Bottom Line:

Play 5 star in college and 4 star (no 5 star plays offered in NFL by NC) in NFL, with NC.

Load up on the next 5 star in college from NC.

NCoast does fall in alove with certain teams and it can work both ways....i know he has been on Kansas for several weeks now and done well with them, a similar team he had used a couple times has been Navy, another good selection for him....its nice when you find an upstart like KU playing with heart and emotion every week and you can ride it.....Steele needs to get OFF the big money teams he likes to play when its obvious they arent up to their talent levels of past season....some of those teams are NEBRASKA/FLORIDA/TENNESSEE......i find it funny b/c he pretty much used FLA every week when they were a favorite...and lost BAD with them....the 1 week he should have been on them when no one would give them a chance was this week vs LSU.....just b/c its a marque team doesnt mean you have to play the game....

...as far as the Tennessee pick goes...i called it when my PS showed up in the mail.....i KNEW it was gonna be Tenn....and i actually liked the pick so i wont 2nd guess it.....im not sayign that game would have gone any different in the 2nd half, but the last play of the 1st half killed TENN...that game was a loser as far as i was concerned at the half....Tenn also had a 50+yd TD pass taken back in the 1st half on a bush league penelty...it could have been a very different game had TENN gone into the half with a lead.....the problem with taking a team like TENN as your big play is.....Geogria had shown already this season they can go on the road and take care of business....they have shown they are full of talent, TENN had shown me NOTHING so far this season...yet he continues to go with those types of teams.....

....it must have just been me (and ashton) b/c i thought one the best bets of the day was AUBURN....they showed the previous week they were back IMO....the pressure of a NC was of their back, their D is suffocating....foget even having them as a play Steele liked the other side, and i thought that was ridiculous.......

Phil goes 2-1 again in the NFL. This guy is RED HOT in the Pros....

I do agree with the falling in love with teams theory. He does do that. But once a team loses a huge play for him, he jumps off.

                    Your logic makes no sense.
I stated earlier that NorthCoast has a documented record of going 10-2 in Games of the month in the past few years and 12-4 overall in games rated 4 1/2 or 5 stars.
He lost a 5* this weekend, so what?
If the batting championship say hits 340 and goes 0-4 one day, by your logic he stinks. Same thing-it is big picture that counts not a 1 day losing streak on a big play.
Play the games of Jack Price, Jimmy the Fixer, Ty Gaston, etc. if you want 90% winners lifetime and never a losing day.

He hasn't gotten crushed yet in NFL. Don't remember his 4* NFL play, but his other plays went....

                      WK 1 : 2-1
                      WK 2: 2-0-1
                      Wk 3: 2-1
                      WK 4: 2-1
                      WK 5: 2-1
                      WK 6: 2-1

That's 12-5-1 on his NFL Late Phones. 13-5 for you if you are smart enough to buy the half on 3 (his push was STL vs SF). That's pretty good.

got crushed in NFL last wk. i don't buy his late phones, so i can't comment. It seems to me that he always touts his winners for that week. i don't like to bash people , but i think people should take anybody's % winners w/ a grain of salt. Statistics can be made to look awful good by someone. I actually subscribe bec. i think he gives great data. i usually don't even know whom he takes. i use his info & make my own decisions.

There's a lot of animosity regarding NC's 5* and generally his college picks. If you take Predator's accumulated sheet of all the services that are reported, you'll find a lot of them have'nt had good seasons (college) to date. There are more losing weeks than winning ones. Just goes to show that what we're doing is gambling and nothing else. Play the picks if you wish, but don't come out after the fact and bitch. These picks are added information and should be used as such. It's funny how people come out of the woodwork when they lose but never come and praise a service or a 'capper after they win. Bottom line, if you can't stand losing on someone else's picks, then lose on your own.
