Ike forces Washington St-Baylor to Friday

Buzz Up PrintWACO, Texas (AP)—The Washington State-Baylor football game has been moved up to Friday night to avoid complications with Hurricane Ike on the Texas coast this weekend.

The game was originally scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Saturday to be broadcast on FSN. Kickoff is now scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday night.

Baylor officials said the approaching hurricane would cause travel problems for Washington State fans, as well FSN production crews, many of who are in the greater Houston area. Houston may be directly impacted by Ike.

Baylor officials said television or webcast information of the game could be announced later.

Texas had already postponed its game Saturday against Arkansas in Austin, about 100 miles south of Waco. TCU, which is located in Fort Worth about 100 miles north of Waco, moved kickoff for its game Saturday against Stanford from 6 p.m. to noon.

As bad as they looked against Wake Forest at times, I do think they took a lot away from a big win over Northwestern State. Robert Griffin got some much needed time on the field. Washington State looked awful in both games.

I was planning on making Baylor a big pick giving up a point at home. That may sound like a big homer call, but they are better than they showed in week 1 against Wake. I am saying the are bowl bound at this point, but better than Washington State.

WSU also is making a last minute change to travel. I would assume they are flying in late tonight?

WSU looked pitiful against the pokes (except for two drives) and that was at their house and I'm thinkin' that with the game moved up that it's gonna be alot harder on the visitor.
The lines off at my book right now, but when it comes back out I'm taking Baylor.

Just re-read my post - I meant to say "I am NOT saying they are bowl bound at this point, but better than Washington State." I just saw myself getting raked over the coals for that first statement!
