I went 3-2 in CFB last weekend, including a 2* win on East Carolina, an eight point dog that won straight up. I also went 3-0 on the opinion plays that aren't counted in my record. I'm posting my Saturday card now as several lines are moving against me and the other two represent great value now.
2* Oregon State -12 1/2
I won a 2* play two weeks ago going against Hawaii and this should be another easy winner. Hawaii is very inexperienced and is likely to tank badly without June Jones. Oregon State played decently in a round loss to Stanford and caught a great Penn State team last week. They'll relish the chance to beat up on a terrible defense.
1* Nebraska -25 1/2
This is a terrible spot for New Mexico State. They're playing their FIRST game against a Nebraska team that already has two wins. NM State's home game last week was called off because Nicholls State weenied out over the hurricane. A two game experience edge is significant, especially with a team with such an obvious physical edge.
1* South Carolina +7 1/2 (-115)
SC has a very good defense that obviously didn't show up last week against Vanderbilt. I like Georgia a lot and won with them last week but I consider these two teams very close in ability. SC is at home and getting a lot of points.
1* Notre Dame +2
A lot of people were unimpressed Notre Dame struggled for three quarters against SD State last week. But that was ND's first game and SD State had played the previous week. The come from behind win should give Notre Dame a lot of confidence. Michigan's offense hasn't hit its stride yet and the QB play hasn't been good. Notre Dame's last three recruiting classes were great and it's going to start to show up on the field.
1* Ohio State +11
This line is a ridiculous overreaction to Ohio State's struggle with Ohio U. They were obviously looking ahead to this showdown with national championship implications. Ohio State, even if Beanie Wells is out, has experience at every position. They were a great team last year and virtually everybody is back. They may win this straight up.
Opinions only:
Texas (Arkansas struggled agaisnt two weak opponents)
Auburn (great defense)
Ohio U. (look what they did against Ohio State)
