ESPN's Chris Mortensen, speaking on Sports Center, reported that Shawne Merriman (knee surgery) will miss the rest of the season.

Merriman will undergo surgery to repair torn knee ligaments and will be placed on injured reserve.

I agree...get his health straight, rehab and get back...I love to watch him play and was worried he might have made his knee even worse than it was...

was a stupid decision to play in the first place, it was obvious he wasnt even at 80% in that carolina game. only had 2 tackles, couldnt get by the first blocker...hopefully he didn't
do any further damage to the knee by playing.

I agree! The only thing shocking? I thought he'd try to hang in for a few weeks then have the surgery.
