On sports talk there has been a lot of talk of him being bipolar and being gay. Don't know if either are true or are factors, but neither would seem to help your mental state.

Bipolar I agree. I'm not sure how being gay would affect a QBs performance. IMO there's more gay athletes than we're aware.

i have nothing against black players , infact i think some of the best athletes in the world are black, but quarterback is a very special position that deals with alot of responsibility and pressure that black athletes havent been able to overcome. I mean lets face the facts here when is the last time a black quarterback ever won a superbowl!! and also lets use last night as a perfect example 2 prime time monday night games the whole world watching and look who CHOKE'S Taravis Jackson and Jamarcus Russell..

Thats full of crap. There is a much smaller percentage of black QB's in this league so its easy to hate against them when they are all struggling. There are plenty of white QB's in the NFL who are having a difficult time of it. McNabb is a pretty good QB and Warren Moon/Randall Cunnignham has solid careers. It has nothing to do with it. When growing up many of the best black athletes utilize there speed/strengh to play the skilled positions - RB,WR,LB,DB. Thats why we don't see as many successful black QB's. We haven't seen a black QB win the superbowl because white QB's dominated the league prior to the turn of the century. Now its probably 75% -80% QB's are white in this league.

Maybe you should move to Germany or Mississippi. They will welcome you with open arms. What a jackass!!!

I guess the thought is that I don't imagine being a gay NFL player is the easiest thing in the world. There is no question that it would absolutely affect you mentally. If true it would certainly add to the stress. Injured, bipolar, gay, the more things that pile on top, the more likely he would be to snap.

The Nashville Tennessean reports Vince Young on Monday "indicated to those around him he didn't want to play football any more." The Titans may be planning to move on without him.
This isn't the first time we've heard this from Young. And "there are indications" the team is ready to move forward with Kerry Collins, even when Young gets healthy. And that assumes Young even wants his job back. Young's mother, rightly concerned, pleaded for people to give her son "space" and "love." But it won't be so simple. A psychologist reported Young was "extremely depressed" and one wonders when he'll see the field again.
