With the Pats defensa and Randy Moss and Wes Welker catching passes mediocre is not a word I would use. They still should win alot of games. It does hurt them with Brady being out but look how good Moss made Culpepper look.He will help whatever QB starts.

Take the points and run. Pats will have plenty of bulletin board material on how 'mediocre' they are without Brady...

I agree. Pats still win 10 or 11 games and contend for the division title.

Jets win by 17+...not because they are that much better but I think this injury will cause a week or two hangover. Lots of seasoned vets but still.....

I don't know about 17+ 3J but i agree. Matt Cassel is horrible and after a team has a week to prepare for him, i think it will show bigtime. He has had plenty of chances to play and he is simply put, not good. He will get exposed quickly i think. The defense, special teams and skill position players will keep them in some games but Cassel will cost them many more. The Patriots know that too. There is a reason why they are rushing all these QB's into Foxboro. I think the Jets are drooling over this game now and they will attack New England on both sides of the ball. The only way N.E. could win is if it was done on defense by a huge effort. I hope i'm wrong but i don't see it and the biggest weakness on the N.E. defense is the secondary. Brett Favre should take advantage of that and if Cassel gets behind, i think the mistakes will come. Thinking strictly as a gambler, i REALLY, REALLY, like the Jets this week!

3, I don't get that thought? The Jets barely beat a BAD Fins team...Favre gets lucky on a TD pass...Pennington gets INT vs TD in last minute...so game is flip of coin IMO.

Granted Pats lose Brady but to flip these 2 teams completely, I can't see that.

Jets at home were waxed last year...made a closer game in NE late in season when Pats were already planning SB/playoffs.

R Jets that improved w/ Favre & gang?

Pats have rushed over Jets last 5 mtgs which makes me think they'll do it again...someone may say well w/ Brady gone they'll stack more in or stop rush 1st. LOL if they want any QB tossing to Moss & gang.

I agree Pats yesterday were probably shocked at losing Brady but they'll move on to this week & have a feeling they'll not only want to prove all wrong but last years BS w/ Jets may play a factor in motivation as well...

Then again, u could be completely RIGHT.

We will see how it plays out...they may not win by 17+, although I think they will, but I do see them controlling the game. If they do not win by that large a spread, it would be like Giants/Skins where the G-men only won by 9 but you never thought like Wash had a chance.

My reasoning, besides the injury, are the NYJ will use this as a statement game with an opportunity to kick a hated rival while down. I think the Jet offense is going to be a top 6 or 7 unit this year and they will start to click more and more each week. The wideouts are very solid, the ground game will be excellent (I think the unsung signing of the off season was Tony Richardson), and the O Line will take time to gel but week over week, I see them getting better and better.

The D is a ?, but they can pin their ears back this week and have at it. Stop the running game, double Moss and force Cassel to look for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th receivers, which young QB's RARELY do very well.

This game will be a testament to the coaching of BB...we will see what he can do not only in terms of getting the O to perform with a QB, and I agree Wayne, that has been horrific, but in getting his team mentally ready to play.

I will say this...haven't read the NY papers today but if they do not take Magini over the coals for not havein g aback-up plan to kick extra points, then they are giving him a free pass...that ALMOST cost them a game yesterday! Someone should be able to kick the ball 17 yards! Heck, over Labor Day, I was kicking 35 yarders! And to not be prepared is a travesty!
