I had an 0-2 Friday with a brutal beat on the +310 Padres who lost in eleven innings. It's the second time I tried to beat CC with dogs over +300 and both times I lost in extra innings. Onward.

Houston is the best team nobody knows about. They'd be leading the NL West and have been on a tear for six weeks. They've won nine of ten (yes, I played them in the only loss in that stretch) and Wandy Rodriguez is pitching very well.

Are the Rays finally feeling the pressure? Who knows? What I do know is Toronto has won seven in a row including a dramatic extra inning win yesterday when Percival flopped badly in the Tampa bullpen. Toronto is 42-29 at home while the Rays are sub-.500 on the road at 32-34. Tampa is only 3-6 in Purcey starts.
