The drivers might not be BUT the pit crew guys are. When you can jump over the wall, run around the car, change all 4 tires, fill it up with gas and make changes to the car in 13 seconds you have to have some athletic ability.Carl Edwards is probably the only one who could step out on a football field and not get killed. And maybe Tony Stewart,he's got alot of cushion

I totally agree. Just about anyone could become a Nascar driver. The only thing that is tough about learning the sport would be the risk and the speed involved. The only thing i give those guys credit for is that very few people would really have the guts to drive 150 or 200 mph and put their lives in danger every second they are driving. The reason i dont give a shit about the sport is because whoever wins a race is just lucky to do so. The winner is determined only by how fast their car is, mechanical problems, racing condition, tires, being in the wrong place at the wrong time on the track, etc. It has little to do with the skill of the driver. The drivers are pretty equal as far as skill goes. The ones that always win have the superior car. Half of these guys have no chance to win a race when it starts because they are at a competitive disadvantage. I consider it a non sport and wouldnt go across the street to watch it There isnt one of them that could compete in the NFL or NBA unless they needed someone to drive the bus to the stadium.

Give them credit for withstanding heavy G-forces and hot temps inside that sweat box for several hours. Stamina, reflex and focus is key.
The one thing I hate about it is how "teams" have advantages over individuals. And comparing them to NBA of NFL is wrong because those players could not drive as fast as these guys do becuase they would shit their pants first.NBA is a joke
