A few random thoughts on tonight's game, ENJOY:
SC -10/Vandy
SC won big but very UGLY & against a sorry team; Vandy won as DOG on road vs a somewhat decent MOH team...Vandy returns 11 starters vs SC's 18...SC going w/ BU QB Smelley who had nothing to lose & much to gain coming in. Smelley 5-5 in passing but now what does he do when pressure of Thurs night game comes as a starter vs BU...SC played a very inept NCST team (at least COCKS scored) while Vandy played as DOG vs FAV MOH...Vandy controlled time of poss, running game was great, QB very efficient, Defense had 42 passes against & controlled the LOS even though they are young on both sides of LOS (only 10 SRS on Vandy team vs 21 for SC).
Coaches: Spurrier vs Bobby Johnson...resumes & salaries don't compare.
Schedule: SC has Georgia next week @ home while Vandy has the powerful & always dangerous Rice Owls @ home. LOOK AHEAD for SC????
Early stats/line says SC -2 (can't rely completely on stats)
I think factors of SC QB, road SEC game, Vandy 1st Home game, Vandy strong start & looking to impress, SC coach is COCK & look ahead to GEORGIA...Vandy keeps it under 10 if they can control running game & TOs like they did on road. I'm surprised this high of a # was put on SC (opened 9 now 10) & can only think their SO of NCST is driving this. The one wrinkle I see is passing games...SC's looks considerably better since Vandy attempted few while giving up 244 yds. Vandy needs to control clock, if they want to be in game. SC 20 Vandy 17
VANDY +10
Navy/Ball St -7
Both great starts to season--vs WHO; Navy had the mighty Towson Whatevers & BST vs Northeastern Cheerleaders...20 returners for Ball vs 11 for Navy. Ball predicted to finish 2nd in MAC behind CMU. Navy, well, with SMU, Duke & Army on schedule that may be the only other teams they can win outright, MAYBE.
Coaches: Ken Nimatalolo led Hawaii to 1st bowl game as QB in 89' & took over after Paul Johnson left for GATECH...Ken is known for the option QB/RB game & is a Mormon.
Hello, Ma’am. My goodness, you have such an attractive little garden here.
Why thank you, young man. I just planted those flowers last week. My, how they grow.
Yes ma’am.
We’re from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Oh, the Mormons.
That’s right. I’m Elder Young, and this is Elder White.
Well, you two boys can just PHuck right off.
Ma’am?
You heard me. Take that Book of Mormon, and shove it so far up your righteous a$$es that you choke, you soul soliciting pig PHuckers.
Brady Hoke-former Ball St player, rumored last year to go to UM, brother is DB coach w/ Houston Texans. Not a Mormon!!
Schedule-Navy has Duke on tap while BallSt has Akron.
Stats say BST -3 (home field) but I'm throwing all game 1 stats out since they both played JV teams.
Ball St could have trouble w/ Navy's running game. If they throw 8 or more in box, make Navy throw, all is good. Could be a high scoring affair. Action junkies only IMO...my heart/mind says BallSt rolls & Letterman is happy but I'll pass & just give opine of lean to BallSt 38-30...LOL
Good luck tonight to all.
