Before you say "No Way" for MVP ... Think about that for a minute. Maybe he does deserve it!

More points than Josh Hamilton, Holliday, A-Rod, Wright, Utley, Hanley and Manny Ramirez. It's unbelieveable what he is doing to be honest! lol

If you look at stats only, Hamilton has double the home runs and a lot more RBI's than Pedroia.
Pedroia is hitting at a higher average.
However, when you consider all of the big hits he has got and plays he as made in the field as well as his baserunning prowess, I think that he has a real good shot of getting the award.
Afterall, if I understand the definition of MVP correctly, it is the player who is most valuable to his own team rather than the league.
In all fairness, I don't watch or listen to just about every inning with Texas as I do with the Sox. meaning that a strong case can probably made for Hamilton also(and probably some other players too).

I think I'd probably put Pedroia 4th or 5th behind Quentin, Hamilton, and Sizemore. Morneau and Miggy Cabrera probably fit in that mix. That said, it's been a fantastic year for Pedroia and well beyond expectations. It's amazing that a guy his size is in the mix for AL MVP this early in his career, especially after starting out so slow early last year.

You can't be serious about Cabrera?

I also don't believe a guy on a real shitty team should win it either. I know guys do but if you finish in last with them, where would you finish without him? Makes no sense to me. Clutch in pressure situations mean alot to me and helping that team WIN also matters.

To me, those Yahoo stats are a great gauge. You get 1 pt. for a single and 4 for a HR. It awards walks, rbi's and everything and it deducts for bad defense and K's. If a guy is at the top of that list, he is having a tremendous year all the way around. Hamilton has 14 more HR's than Pedroia at 4 points a pop and Dustin still has about 50 points more than Josh. He has a ton more than Cabrera (Another guy 14 HR's ahead of him). I think if it is based on HR's, than no, he shouldn't win it. If it is a guy who does everything, maybe he should!

Sure, why not? It's a bad year by his standards, but a .291 average with 31 HRs and 109 RBI deserves consideration considering the numbers this year.

No way, he has done nothing to win any big games for Detroit, missed too many games, and not done anything else really. Look at yahoo, his stats are not even page 1 worthy. I don't see it. They just talked about 3 guys for it in the A.L. and they were Morneau, Quentin and Pedroia. I can see all those arguments but looking at the big picture, there is no way in hell i could take Cabrera over all of them.

Hasn't Miggy only missed like 2 games this year? Either way, he's like 4-7th on my list along with Pedroia, so it doesn't really matter. Sizemore is the guy who's missing from that discussion.

I agree with that. Sizemore has had a GREAT Year!!!

You are right. It was Ordonez i was thinking of with the injuries. I still think Cabrera went there and put up the usual numbers that were expected from him and he was paid to do. Detroit had a horrible season and i think that is why nothing special sticks out to me about him. There is just no charm there with him for me. I like Grady. If he won it, i would be fine with that!

Today notwithstanding, they are winning regularly with a number of regulars missing and without Beckett.
With the new guys performing extremely well, this should be one strong team once the regulars return.
This coming from the guy who 3 weeks ago was ready to proclaim the NYY WS champs!
