According to baseball's rulebook, only the official scorer may change a judgment scoring call.

If official scorer Bob Webb were to decide to change the call, it would be the first time in major league history a no-hitter was awarded retroactively.

If the game was in Milwaukee it would have been a different story. How many times have we all seen a "homer" call? They said he called it a hit as soon as the play was done. If he had taken some time to make the call or looked at the replay and made his decision then it would have been more legit. That being said, their is less pressure with the hit on the board and makes no sense to take the hit back the next day.

There's no doubt! The play occurred in the 5th inning. There's a HUGE difference between pitching with no pressure of a 1 hitter vs. LOTS of pressure into the later innings with a no hitter.

Maybe the Brewers want the no-hitter awarded to C.C. to have something to remember him by as he will be gone at the end of the season. Convert Gagne to a starter to take his place in the rotation next season.

Besides the no-hitter would have been against the Triple A Pirates, the farm team of the Yankees/Red Sox!!!
