  • MLB Thursday: Sweep Day

    YTD 32-35 +1.68 units
    2* 2-1 +2.0 units
    1* 30-34 -0.32 units

    Faves 7-5 +1.76 units
    Dogs 25-28 +2.07 units
    Totals 0-2 -2.15 units

I've broken out of a slump with a very good week, winning last night with the +151 Indians (who have now won ten in a row; unfortunately, they're off today).

    1* Red Sox +121
Can Boston pull off a sweep in Yankee Stadium? Why not? They're getting underdog numbers despite the fact that Lester and Mussina have eerily similar numbers. Boston is 18-9 in Lester starts and the Yankees are 18-9 when Mussina starts. The difference is that Boston is playing for something while the Yankees are unaccustomed to having to play out the string. Boston has scored 51 in its last eight games and that's even with a shutout thrown in there. Mussina has given up a lot of hits his last few starts. Bring out the brooms with a live dog.

        Adding

        Adding:

        1* Nationals +153
Let's go for another sweep. The Dodgers are a terrible disappointment and are playing very bad baseball down the stretch. Only the medicrity of Arizona is keeping them in it. They've lost six in a row and eight of their last nine. Washington's pitcher, Lannan, has better stats than Kershaw and held the Brewers to only one hit over six innings three starts back. The Nationals don't get many opportunities for a sweep and should be focused tonight. Given how bad the Dodgers are right now, this is a sweet price.

        Opinion only:
        Cubs
