Who am I? I hit two triples and had 4 hits in my first major league game. I won rookie of the year in the same season. After I retired I was inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Here's the amazing thing about McCovey and the reason I remembered this:
He wasn't called up until July 30! He went on a two month tear and won Rookie of the year despite playing in only 70 games.
What's esepcially incredible is that a tank like him could get one triple, much less two, in a gameComment
