Can I act like a ass , and say ( like others ) " thats heavy chalk "
..... no really its the only way smart money can go ! And I have those on my plate as well , Stienbrenner has done his annual " front office " mind game that in his opinion gets his team going ( like they need it with that payroll ) and " nuff " said about Prior & the comeback Cubs !

I took them in a low paying parlay as well , along with a small side on the Minn. Wild @ Chi. tonight ( + 1/2 -110 ) . I have to admit that the past week or so I feel as thou my house is the moon of Venus ( card flipper talk ) not that I believe in tarrot cards , just a bunch of real strange things going on in the sports world at the moment. I will weather it out as they do come in spurts and fade just as fast , but in the meantime I have been concentrating on the upcoming basketball season and preparing the moxie needed to tackle it .

On a closing note , a friend of mine and I where discussing why Maurice Clarett " really " wants to go pro :

#1) Hmmm , you ever been to Columbus ?
#2) Lets face it Tampa Bays defense is much softer than Purdues
#3) Theres a 1 in 32 chance he can see Warren Sapp naked
#4) He should be making as much money by year 3 as he was at Ohio St.

I myself am betting Yanks for this series only as a hedge because I have Sox at 7-1 and 9-1 to win the WS.
That being said, I notice in the same way that just about everyone picked the under last night in Cubs game(most, not all-I played the over), just about everyone is picking NY tonight;can folks be wrong two nights in a row?
Obviously, having Sox for world series and NY as a hedge in this series, I ain't touching the game itself and my apologies to Homer and Memphis, but for I will for obvious reasons be cheering for Sox to do the unexpected and win;again that is a hope and not a prediction.

I like that pick as well MM. (Minnesota + 1/2) They are fast, and they are a great passing team. I think they can win out right, but I'll take the safe play as well at -110. I don't see the hawks beating them by 2.

          MMM,

I'm going to follow you on the Wild Tonight.

          Good Luck.

And keep posting Hockey and Basketball when it starts.

I will be following people in those two sports.

I will be the First to tell you. I can't CAP those two sports if I wanted to. So I will be a follower of you, Wayne, Wiz ( Because he said he's the man in Basketball), EZ and so on.

So bring those two sports home. I will try to keep the Bases and the Foots under control on my end.

I will go out on a limb here and say that Wiz told the absolute truth in his estimation concerning basketball , it is by far the most feared by the books , and one of the better money makers around. I am usually of the frame of mind that early on , before they get a handle on the true make-ups of the teams talent you can find some real hum-dingers out there . And of couse knowing a few trends that have lasted for many years and hold true year in & year out doesnt hurt a thing . The Maui Tourney always without fail always turns up to a sweet spot because if I was 19 years old and was in Hawaii the last thing I want to think about is basketball ( just kidding ) but it always gives you a sleeper every year . I really concentrate on the over / unders to a great extent and never underestimate the power of a home-floor ( the " Pit " in New Mexico comes to mind ) and on & on & on !

I am fairly new to wagering on the Pucks as I have only been doing it for a few years , but there is no replacement for doing your homework so I fare pretty well and spot play alot .

A quick list of my outlook on this years plate in the NHL :

              #1) Ottawa Senators
              #2) Philadelphia Flyers
              #3) Detroit Redwings
              #4) Colorado Avalanche
              #5) TIE
              Tampa Bay Lightning
              San Jose Sharks

Both sleepers as far as I am concerned !

I will agree with you on that list.

Other then Detroit. I live here and follow them.

My worries are. Who is going to score the goals for them this year?

They don't have the scoring power of the past.

Also is Hasek going to be any good this year. I can't answer that question.

                  memphis mafia

The Maui Tourney won't have the marquee field this year. That stupid rule that limited teams to partipate in a limited number of exempt games in a 3 year span took care of that. In fact the pickings were so slim that they had to invite the University of Hawaii to complete the field. Never in the history has UH been in the tourney. Teams this year: Chaminade, Villanova, Hawaii, Dayton, Central Michigan, Ohio St. and an Diego St. A far cry from the Kansas' , Louisvilles, Kentuckys, Marylands, etc. that use to dot the tounament field. The good news is the NCAA has rescinded the edict and the tourneys outside the continental US are now exempt games again.

I am fairly optimistic about the Wings chances this year , agreed that Hasek sat out and could be going down hill but the kid Manny Legacecan step in ( if he struggles ) . Yzerman is 38 with a realigned leg and there to I see very capable replacements in Pavel Datsyuk or Henrik Zetterberg ( two of the top young forwards in the game ) . You also have the mountain as I call him , and he could very well dominate this year Jiri Fischer ( 6` 5`` ) . Free agent pick-up Ray Hatcher is a big step up over Luc Robitaille and they have the trading chip of CuJo if needed.

Your biggest surprise will be the kid Juri Hudler , I expect him to sneek up on alot of people this year !
