And looking at the smiles and laughter in the dugout after Bays first homer with the Red Sox, it seems that Bay is the perfect fit!!!
MANNY WHO?
I know it's only 2 games in, but I said before the trade that he would bea great fit...the dude can play...if I was a Sox fan, I would've been estatic with this trade before it happened.

I didn't know much about the guy, just his stats, But you and a couple others mentioned that he was a player.
I'm stoked!!!!!!!!
Now all I wish for is Manny to go into a six week slump and see how he handles himself....not asking for much! Manny didn't know how good he had it in Boston.

I said the same when trade was proposed, and although not much can be made of two games, based on what I have seen here and in the games in which I saw him play on tv on the MLB Network with the Pirates, I am (and have always been) impressed with him.
He went 4-10 for Pitt. in the Interleague games with the Yankees this season.
triple, 2 runs scored on friday!..homer on sat ! why not?
thats what trades are all about!
I wonder if he is focusing even more trying to play well and feed off the energy at Fenway. In Pittsburgh when he was down by 4 runs and the crowd was quiet, maybe it was hard to get excited at times. With all the good hitters in this lineup, the short trip to the wall in left and the fans that cheer loudly for him, he will really thrive, His numbers should only improve in Fenway.
I've seen him play almost everyday. It's funny how you guys are all over his nuts already. The guy swings in the same place every time. Pitchers just seem to hit his bat every once in a while. It won't last!!

I don't think anyone is on his nuts but what is wrong with giving the kid a chance here? He had more HR's than Manny and many others before this trade so he obviously knows how to hit. His average is solid too. I've seen him play many games through MLB Extra Innings the last few years and he will hustle and give a great effort. After Manny, that is all they are looking for. The kid may blossom in a place like Fenway. You don't know and i don't either but one thing is for sure, the pressure has not bothered him in the least in the 1st two games.
