I have a coworker that says if Bartman would not have touch that foul ball the Alou would not have caught it either. Any thoughts!

I thought Alou came out and said something to the same effect not too long ago.

Where's Rook when you need him

He did recently say he wouldn't have caught it but then changed his statemetn soon after to say he could have. He had a chance to catch it but there were more fans than just Bartman he had to contend with.

Yes, Alou could have caught the ball. You could see it on the replay that Bartman was reaching over just a bit, and Alou was right there to get it.

Now the real question is...could Bartman have fielded the tailor made double play ball that Alex Gonzalez booted that really was the issue?

I'm just tired (and no offense to you brady this is not intended to you) of all the talk about Bartman. That poor kid is STILL in hiding because of this.

He did what ANYONE IN THAT SITUATION would have done. ANYONE. Anyone that tells me otherwise is a fucking liar. Bartman didn't know that all hell would break loose because of that. If he did, he would have been further away from the ball then anyone, cause Bartman is a HUGE Cubs fan.

I feel for him. I really do. Poor guy had his life changed by idiot cubs followers (not fans) and the fucking media who just can't let it go.

It's almost the same thing as Bill Buckner in 1986.

Was it his fault that the pitcher threw a wild pitch right before that hit?
There were other things that happened be4 that hit.
That inning should have been over long be4 the ball went threw Buckners leggs.
                  Good Luck to everyone

Richie: [after Gus hits a homerun] Wow and he did it without steroids.
                  Clark: What's steroids?
Richie: Something that makes your pee-pee smaller.
Clark: There must be steroids in macaroni!

I agree. After the Red Sox won a world series it seem Buckner was forgiven. Hopefully the Cubs can win one for Bartman. (not that he has done anything to be forgiven for)
