A team that is BASED in Canada yes. However if you look at the heritage of majority of the Stanley Cup winning rosters over the years there are more Canadians than Americans on them. Also from a WORLD perspective of Championship hockey events we also have the US number so where the team is BASED in really doesnt matter. And yes I can say that now not like I thought when we argued about Edmonton to beat Carolina in the 2006 Stanley Cup..
