    Maple Bats ....

    Somebody is going to get killed by one of these newer Maple Bats. Geoff Jenkins almost knocked himself out cold when he swung and broke it on his own shoulder and there have been many other incidents with Maple Bats this season.

    Find a fireplace for these things!!!!!!

        Unfortunately I think it is going to take a serious injury or fatality ( will it be player, coach, umpire, batboy, or fan?) to do anything about it.
        You can't always get what you want, but if you try some time, you might find, you get what you need.

          I play in a adult wooden bat league and the hitters use MAple. They are soild bats and the hitters make better direct contact with them. They will continue to still use them. sorry guy

            Actually guy, it has become such a PROBLEM that MLB has asked to have Maple Bats that shatter to be sent to MLB Offices for inspection. It may not last as long as you think guy. Just cause you weaklings in a Burger King sponsored league don't break them, it doesn't mean the real hitters don't. Talk to you later guy!

                for your information Guy, its a very competative league with many college players and pitchers throwing anywhere from 84-90. ANd yes we shatter bats all the time. At least I do something when I am not working as opposed to you that sits on this site 24 hours a day 7 days a week GUY

                        I think the "guy" at the end of your comment might have struck a nerve. Something about a right way and a wrong way to carry yourself, even anonymously on line
