TOLEDO, Ohio -- A driver died in a four-vehicle accident at Toledo Speedway that sent the rear of his car slamming into a wall at about 110 mph.

Terry Gibson, a 46-year-old from LaRue, Ohio, died at the scene on Friday night, according to the Lucas County coroner's office. It is the first death at the track since 2000.

Officials say the crash happened at about 7:45 p.m. during the third lap of a super modified race.

The Toledo Blade reported that according to Lucas County (Ohio) cornor's investiator Charlie Hunt, after the four cars collided, Gibson's spun out and its rear hit the wall. He said an autopsy was pending.

    Racing continued after the crash.
