FORT WORTH, TEXAS (TICKER) —Hank Blalock is finally ready to return to the Texas Rangers.
Blalock will join the team in Minnesota and be activated on Friday, according to a report in Thursday’s Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Now a first baseman, Blalock, 27, was placed on the disabled list April 29 with a torn left hamstring. He was close to returning earlier this season but developed carpal tunnel syndrome in his wrist while rehabbing his original injury.
However, after going 2-for-7 with an RBI in three games with Class AA Frisco of the Texas League, Blalock appears healthy.
“I made sure before I decided to come back that my hand was ready and I wasn’t having any problems,” said Blalock, who posted a .299 batting average with three home runs and seven RBI in 22 games at third base before tearing his hamstring.
OH AND BY THE WAY, WE STILL NEED SOME PITCHIN'
