If Phil bogeys 18,he and Ernie Ells and Vijay Singh all shoot 80.The conditions over there must be horible.TV ratings I'm sure will drop with Tiger not being there but this proves how important Tiger is to the sport.Alot of people who follow golf probably didn't realize the British Open was even this week because the coverage has been little because Tiger is absent.Wonder if a asterisk will be put beside the winner of the tournament like *major championship without Tiger.

Right now there is no one under par, Norman leading at even par. Concievably, you could have guys missing the cut at plus 8 - just 8 strokes off wih 36 holes to go. A 10 shot cut rule as it stands now, would allow 110 players to make the cut. 10 shots can easily be made up in a major. Field is pretty bunched.

I agree.As long as Retief and Wier don't shoot lights out Phil and Ernie still have a chance to make the cut if they play well today.You let the winds pick up tomorrow and like you said 10 shots back could be made up.I do feel like conditions will have to be bad for them to make up that ground but it can happen.
