Was right about the Mets and Yankees yesterday. Too bad I didn't play them.
Yesterday 5-2 +260
Season 23-22 -227
Marlins (+100) 75/75
Florida is 3-0 in Olsen's day starts this season and Baek is 0-3 at home with a 6.23 ERA. SD has struggled against LHP at home this season, batting only .225 and Florida has fared well against RHP in the past 10 games, batting .315. Small play on the Marlins.
Ari/Was under 8 (-105) 105/100
I had Lannan on a couple of my fantasy teams for a while and he seems to make good starts each time out. The Nationals never win for him though. 8 of his last 9 starts have gone under the total (3.48 ERA) and Washington has lost all 9 games. Washington is struggling at the plate batting .220 against RHP over the past 10 games and .233 for the season. The under is 7-0-2 in the last 9 road games for the Diamondbacks and 6 of the last 7 in this series in the Washington have gone under. This would have been a bigger play but for the inconsistency of Owings.
Dodgers (-114) 114/100
Hudson is getting a lot of respect here for someone who can't win on the road this season. Atlanta is 2-8 in his 10 road starts this season and are 13-30 on the road overall and they are batting .197 in the past 10 games against RHP. Lowe has a 3.26 ERA at home this season and LA is 14-3 his last 17 starts versus teams with losing records. I like the Dodgers here.
Tigers (-149) 127/85
Tigers -1.5 (+130) 85/111
I'm all of a sudden gun shy about laying anything close to -150 on my larger plays. I probably should play the Tigers on the moneyline for the full 2 units, but i'm going to just lay 1 run here. It's hard to understand, but it looks like Cleveland is done. 1-9 in their last 10 and 15-30 on the road this season. They are 1-9 in Byrd's road starts this season and over his last 7 starts, overall, he has an ERA of 8.81 and Cleveland is 1-6. Meanwhile, the Tigers are 21-5 in their last 26 as favorites and are 13-3 in their last 16 home games, averaging just under 6 runs a game over that stretch.
White Sox (-118) 148/125
The Royals are coming back down to earth after feasting on the NL in interleague play. They are now 3-6 since IL play ended. KC has played poorly in the second game of a series, this season, after losing the first, going 3-12. In 5 starts against Chicago last season, Bannister posted an ERA of 6.65 over has given up 13 earned runs in his last two starts this season. The White Sox are playing well winning 8 of their last 10 and Vazquez is 6-2 in his career against KC with a 2.74 ERA.
Angels (-136) 102/75
Very small play on the Angels here. Weaver has a career ERA of 2.36 vs Texas and has an ERA of 1.45 over his past 3 starts. In a weird stat, the Angels are 7-1 in game 3 of a series after losing game 2 and Texas is 5-12 in game 3's after winning game 2. Just a small play here.
