relief pitching has to be at all time worst???? i've seen 3 leads tonight minnesota, baltimore and chicago whitesox blow 2,3,4 run leads late in games. i'm a big Met fan and i have to deal with the mets relief pitching andy heilman, billy wagner daily so you have to feel my pain. this is not a bitch either!!!!!! just an observation. anyone else agree, disagree????

safe......anymore......when was any lead ever safe in any sport, much less BaseBall......

It's been this way for years, and will be this way for many more....

It's Sports, thus the saying, "it's not over till the fat lady sings"....that saying has been around for many years....

I wonder why.....In all sports, there's no such thing as a safe lead....one can feel comfortable in the latter stages of a sports event, but safe, NEVER.....IMO

I agree relief pitching is very bad.

IMO the bigger cause is the way the game is played. A generation ago starters averaged 7 to 8 innings per start. A middle reliever might pitch an inning a few times each week. Now middle relievers pitch an inning or two almost every game. There's a good reason middle relievers are middle relievers. They're not good.

kansa city up 6-2 loses 7-6 on a balk. anaheim up 4-2 loses 5-4 with frod pitching. cleveland up 6-0 loses 8-6. just sickening.
