Lester was a rookie in 06. Floyd and Danks are not unknowns but former top prospects. Floyd took longer to develop and got his start in Philly in believe and never lived up to the hype there.
Danks was part of the DVD boys from Texas along with Volquez and I cant remember the other name who is still in the Texas minors.
If Texas had any sense and would develop their own pitching they would be in better shape....they landed Hamilton for Volquez but gaffed with the White Sox and got McCarthy for Danks who I believe is hurt at the moment.
The guys on Oakland are not unknowns either as Oakland is very good in scouting other people's farm systems when making trades. They landed Haren in the Mulder deal and a few years later flipped Haren for Eveland and Smith (and a few others).....Eveland and Smith aren't top not prospects but they are far from journeyman.
As far as best staff at the moment I would have to go with the White Sox or Oakland because they give their teams a chance to win every night no matter who is pitching along with the Angels and Boston follows closely.
As far as TB is concerned I am not sold on Jackson/Sonnanstine as of yet.......if this were the postseason I would take the Red Sox because of all the proven big game experience with Beckett and Dice K and Lester and Wakfield are no slouches.
If I had to choose 1 staff as a whole based on regular and postseason it would have to be Boston/LAA and stats as a whole have gone down across the board because steroids have been eradicated for the most part except for the ones that require testing through blood
I agree that stats don't lie Kaptain but can you seriously say that if the Postseason started tomorrow, that would be the starting 5 you would choose? Can you answer that with a yes and a straight face? I couldn't. No way in hell.
Pitching experience in the post season is overrated. I don't care of the age or experience. Give me the best pitchers and more times than not I'll win the series. We don't have to look back to far for proof. 2003 World Series.

With that said, how much do you trust the CWS staff in the postseason?
Angels. Lackey is an ace in the AL, I like my chances with him over anyone in the league (especially roy halladay tonight ) If Jered Weaver or Jon Garland is able to pitch consistently well they'll be one of the toughest teams to win a series against.
