Danks and Floyd are unknowns but dosent mean they are not having years -- from the numbers I posted .. if Contrareas and Vasquez hadnt taken a shit there last 3-4 starts each the numbers would look better
Just a month ago the sox starting 5 had the best ERA in baseball
What is the POLL....
Majors overall as stated in heading, or AL and the 5 teams listed as inferred....
Clarify, and you may get some more input.....

Its just a poll -- for fun, discussion , debate
You posted F- none of the above
You are going to tell me the angels , bluejays , and Oakland do not have great staffs?
If u choose F -- who do you think has the best staff ?
The rangers ? reds ?
Dino, PLEASE don't tell me about "Angry". If i was angry i would have had a profanity blast or 2 or 5 like you do to people. None of that was in my post. No profanity or name calling once. How was my post angry???

WHICH TEAM HS THE BEST STARTING PITCHING STAFF IN THE LEAUGE ?
It is confusing....he talks about majors in the heading, and then addresses League later, and shows 5 teams from from the AL.....
I don't know any more now........It doesn't matter to me any how, It's just another poll....IMO
But I understand where you're coming from.....
I just picked what I thought were the 5 best staffs in baseball -- these were also based on numbers from ESPN
Its not my fault the 5 best staffs are in the American leauge
Which staff in the NL would rival these? Dodgers? Atlanta ?
Those are the top 2 staffs in the NL and I dont think they hold a candle to those I postedLast edited by GOLDENGREEK; 07-05-2008, 11:42 AM.

"The White Sox being on this list is a joke. I don't care what their numbers are, not a person out there would choose their staff over every other. No way in hell if they know anything about baseball "

ummmm ... The White Sox have zero votes. I'm sure someone will vote for them out of spite after this post now but they currently have zero. I also know no one who would vote for the White Sox starting 5. I bet if you asked every manager in the game except for Ozzie, the CWS would not get chosen once as the best staff. Ask any ESPN expert which staff they think is the best in baseball and i bet not one chooses the CWS. That is why i said nobody who knows or follows baseball would choose them as the best.

It is like saying J.D. Drew is the best OF in major league baseball. He did have the best numbers in June and he did win the Player of the month award. In reality though, we know he isn't the best or even in the Top 10. Numbers are great to play with but they certainly don't determine the "Best" of anything on July 5th. I'm sure most would have a very different Top 5 rotation list if they made one up. Based on best starting 5 and rotations that i would choose if the postseason started tomorrow, i would probably choose ...
Tampa Bay
Anaheim
Toronto
Boston
Cubs/Arizona
Number 5 is a toss up for me

Lets see what Lester does for a full year - looks great so far
You say Danks and Floyd or unknowns but yet put the Sox on the list but write off Lester as saying he has been great for only 3 monhs?
I do believe the Sox starting 5 is better than the ChiSox. Just interesting to read your bases for not including them but yet ignoring the reasons why you won't inlcude them when looking at the Sox.Last edited by Three Jack; 07-05-2008, 12:10 PM.Three Jack's Record http://www.bettorschat.com/forums/sh...10#post1323910

YOU HAVE 3 OF MY 5 IN THERE -- WHY WOULD YOU VOTE F - NONE OF THE ABOVE -- SINCE YOU HAVE THE CUBS AND ZONA LISTED 5TH IN A TOSS UP, YOUR SELECTION WAS OBVIOUSLY BOSTON
,,, AND CUBS ??? REALLY ??Last edited by GOLDENGREEK; 07-05-2008, 12:12 PM.

In no special Order...my top 5
Tampa
Tor
Boston
Anaheim
Phillies
close 6th---tie for Cubs/Az/Braves...Dodgers have good ERA stats
