I Hate the white sox with a passion -- I put them on the list because I believe they have a great staff

Danks and Floyd are unknowns but dosent mean they are not having years -- from the numbers I posted .. if Contrareas and Vasquez hadnt taken a shit there last 3-4 starts each the numbers would look better

Just a month ago the sox starting 5 had the best ERA in baseball

Floyd is not unknown. He is a journeyman that is having the year of his life. If he starts a playoff game, i will bet against him in a heartbeat. Danks? Average at best compared to dozens of others on other staffs. Buehrle? Which Buehrle shows up? Javier. Has he finally found a home on his 10th team? He scares nobody as well. The Chicago offense has made it easier for the pitching staff to pitch. We'll see how good they are in the postseason, if they don't fall apart 1st and miss the playoffs.

It is confusing....he talks about majors in the heading, and then addresses League later, and shows 5 teams from from the AL.....

I don't know any more now.... ....It doesn't matter to me any how, It's just another poll....IMO

But I understand where you're coming from.....

I just picked what I thought were the 5 best staffs in baseball -- these were also based on numbers from ESPN

Its not my fault the 5 best staffs are in the American leauge

Which staff in the NL would rival these? Dodgers? Atlanta ?

Those are the top 2 staffs in the NL and I dont think they hold a candle to those I posted

Dino, You said the poll was based on numbers at ESPN. If that is true, the Dodgers are 5th best in ERA ... A thing you used (ERA) in many areas. Whether or not "You" believe they are one of the best, shouldn't they be included?

ummmm ... The White Sox have zero votes. I'm sure someone will vote for them out of spite after this post now but they currently have zero. I also know no one who would vote for the White Sox starting 5. I bet if you asked every manager in the game except for Ozzie, the CWS would not get chosen once as the best staff. Ask any ESPN expert which staff they think is the best in baseball and i bet not one chooses the CWS. That is why i said nobody who knows or follows baseball would choose them as the best.

I don't think its Boston but what would last year or one's career have anything to do with 'who has the best starting pitching in the majors' this year?

I do believe the Sox starting 5 is better than the ChiSox. Just interesting to read your bases for not including them but yet ignoring the reasons why you won't inlcude them when looking at the Sox.
