  • Nice job by Brew Crew pen

Held 5-0 lead going to bottom 9.

Got none of 7 hitters out, losing 6-5.
You can't always get what you want, but if you try some time, you might find, you get what you need.

This is why baseball is one of the most frustrating sports to bet on. Didnt have a penny on this game though. So many lead changes in games with no lead EVER being safe. Scores flip flop around throughout the duration more than any other sport IMO. All lies in the hands of one or a few young relievers every game. I can never win money long term in this sport and thats what makes Spark so amazing at what he does.

up 1-0, down 2-1, up 3-2, down 5-3, up 8-5, lose 9-8 FINAL...baseball is similar to NBA with regards to runs and lead changing IMO...really stressful shit to try and watch (from a wagering perspective) never knowing if you are sitting pretty or not...

One difference is the lack of a time frame. In Baskets or foots , if you are up by 50, it is over. There simply is not enough time with a winding clock to score the necessary points, wit a defense on the field/court. But bases require 27 outs. In todays game, if they didn't stop it when Snakes went up 6-5, they may have gone all night. They scored 6 times with no signs of letting up. As long as there is an out left, it is never over.

Thats why football and hockey and other sports that involve a TEAM defensive effort make you feel much more comfortable when having a lead where as in baseball its all in the hands of the reliever HIMSELF defensively....very frustrating to say the least...

                    Not exclusively the reliever.

Brad Lidge came on to pitch the 9th last night with a 7-3 lead. Lidge leads all MLB in ERA, BA and Slug Pct. He had to get 5 outs in the 9th, as Ryan Howard made two errors. Fortunately, Lidge struck out the side, and didn't even get a save for his efforts.

Of course not necessarily as errors and stuff can come into play but for the most part it is PRIMARILY on the reliever to make the pitches where as in hockey and football the TEAM as a whole works TOGETHER defenseively when holding a lead...less stressful and makes you feel a little more safer knowing its not on one guys hands mainly...

Chado almost no lead in any sport is safe until the the game is over....games like today are rare but they do happen....shit I lost a hockey game last season when the team I had was up 5-0

                        PEACE

I felt pretty good w/ the Lakers in game 4 of the Finals...up by 28, only to lose outright.

(But it was probably fixed right???)

The thing we all have to remember is that for every game that one loses in this manner, on the opposite side is someone who got a really lucky win. It's nice to tell those tales too.
