Record 6-5 +$23
Tigers (-135) $270/$200
Lots of reasons to back Detroit here. The Tigers have won 5 of Verlanders last 6 starts against Seattle. In his last 9 starts, Verlander has only given up more than 3 ER one time. Last time out, Silva posted a good start, but it was against a putrid SD offense. In 2 starts vs the Tigers this season, Silva's ER is a cool 27.00. Detroit is 7-0 in their last 7 as a road favorite and Sea is 2-8 in their last 10 at home vs RHP. I'll take the Tigers here to bounce back from the series loss against Minny.
Atl/Phi under 8 (-120) $180/$150
Big trend here that I can't ignore. The under is 25-4 in Atlanta's last 29 games as a dog. Jurrjens hasn't given up an ER in his last 3 starts covering 21 2/3 innings. Hamels dominated the Braves on a 4 hit shutout in May. I'll go with the trend and 2 quality starters and play the under here.
Mets (+104) $75/$78
Token play on the Mets here. They are 8-2 in their last 10 after a loss and 9-3 in their last 12 as a dog. The Cards are 0-4 in the last game of 4 games series this season. Pelfrey hasn't been dominant, but he's been showing better poise and keeping the Mets in games over his last 6 starts (Mets have won 5 of them). Very small play on the Mets here.
Will have a play on the over in the Fla/Col game once I can get a line.
