Sunday's List of 13: Wrapping up a sports Saturday......

    13) Dodgers didn't get a hit Saturday night but still got 1-0 win, as Billingsley struck out seven for his 7th win. Errors by both pitcher Weaver and catcher Mathis gave the Dodgers only run they needed to win second game of Freeway Series.

    12) It was the first time in 16 years team won a big league game, without getting a basehit. Who was the last? We'll have that in Monday's website, when the Sunday quiz answer is revealed.

    11) It is 1:30am, and poker is on five different TV channels.

    10) Sad day in Georgia, as Uga VI, a 9-year old English Bulldog that was University of Georgia's mascot, died of congestive heart failure. Uga VI will be buried in Sanford Stadium.

    9) Baseball needs a rookie/sophomore All-Star Game, after the home run derby, the day before the real All-Star Game. NBA is already doing it-- think it would be a good idea.

    8) Had Tampa Bay won Saturday, Jonny Gomes' 15-pitch AB that ended with Gomes tying the game with solo HR. in eighth might have clinched award for best single AB of season. As it is, that AB may still be the best plate appearance all season.

    7) Mets lost Santana's last five starts, scoring nine runs total.

    6) Tigers battled back to .500 by scoring twice in ninth to beat Colorado 7-6, after Rockies scored four times in ninth to take a 6-5 lead in top half of inning.

    5) Mets have had the better starting pitcher in all three games against Bronx this weekend, and still lost two out of three.

    4) Padres were playing better few weeks ago, but since ill-fated trip to Cooperstown, where Hall of Fame Game got rained out, and they ate at McDonald's in Cobleskill, San Diego is 1-10. They had won 9 of 11 games prior to the Cooperstown visit.

    3) If playoffs started Sunday morning, these teams would be in
    AL: Boston-White Sox-Angels-Tampa Bay
    NL: Philadelphia-Cubs-Arizona-St Louis

    2) Of the 30 starting pitchers Saturday, Justin Duchscherer was only one to finish eighth inning. 7 of 30 finished the 7th. 29 of 30 finished the fifth-- only Javier Vazquez didn't.

    1) American League teams were just 6-8 Saturday, but have a huge 141-96 lead going into the last day of interleague play.
