After a 4-2 CFB Saturday subbed into a 4-3 by adding a late Akron pick which was my fault on a bad choice we will try to do a little better on the NFL Ledger for starting tomorrow....
SO LET'S BE ABOUT THE ONLY PERSON ON THE BOARD OR PLANET AS IT SEEMS TO TAKE THE CULPEPPER-LESS VIKES (he practiced Friday and could play if need to win this game) laying the points vs the Vickless-Falcons on the road.
5*==>VIKINGS-4 or-3 (buy the point)if wish the cush
Like I said earlier fool me once (Saints +4 vs Colts) get annihilated at home AND fool me twice (Bears +4 vs Packers at home) get obliterated.....so I will take a chance at NOT fooling myself the 3rd time with a vastly superior team on both sides of the ball in Minnesota coming into Atlanta to play a decimated secondary and punchless offensive team in Atlanta. If the Vikes get up the crowd goes home to beat the traffic and themselves. I am throwing out the trends and PAST spread ****** on this one and play the reality of the two teams such as:
The Vikings will have their bye week coming after the Falcons game, meaning Culpepper could have four full weeks to heal before coming back Oct. 19 against Denver with Frerotte starting Oct. 5.
The Vikings might delay announcing their decision until moments before kickoff, like they did against the 49ers.
The Falcons haven't won since their season opener at Dallas, and have scored only one touchdown in back-to-back losses to division rivals Tampa Bay and Carolina.
Receiver Peerless Price has gotten off to a slow start for the Falcons.
The offensive futility actually goes back a bit further. Since taking a 24-7 lead against Washington in Week 2, a game which the Redskins rallied to win 33-31, Atlanta has reached the end zone twice in 35 possessions
he Vikings (4-0) have a bye the following weekend, which will give their star quarterback more time to heal.
VIKINGS TEAM RANK: Rushing Offense -- 146.3 yards per game (7th in NFL); Passing Offense -- 230.0 ypg (9th); Total Offense -- 376.3 ypg (2nd). Rushing Defense -- 91.0 ypg (11th); Passing Defense -- 205.5 ypg (14th); Total Defense -- 296.5 ypg (10th).
FALCONS TEAM RANK: Rushing Offense -- 92.5 yards per game (21st); Passing Offense -- 158.5 ypg (28th); Total Offense -- 251.0 ypg (31st). Rushing Defense -- 149.8 ypg (28th); Passing Defense -- 229.0 ypg (24th); Total Defense -- 378.8 ypg (29th).
I think TJ Duckett will get the ball until his legs and arms fall off to control clock which would be the Falcons one glimmer of hope.
The Vikes as well as all other teams will lose and not cover games but this one should not fall into that category
3*==>VIKES/ATL (O)43
I like this play a lot as I see the Vikes defense pulling troops at the end of game in control to allow a late Atlanta score to put it over the top in something like a 31 to 17-24 final.
3*==>NYG-MEN PK
YESSSSS...That's right...I will actully bet money ON the NY Giants at home. I just believe Miami will have once again trouble on the road and the Giants defense should absolutely make a QB like Fiedler pick up a violin vs a football. RUN RUN RUN RUN in this game for the most part.
2*==>CAROLINA -6.5
New Orleans is D-O-N-E........I would expect even the Carolina offense to put up 25 to 35 points on what is left of the New Orleans defense.......ADD THIS TO THE FACT CAROLINAS DEFENSE is licking their chops looking over at Brooks who has apparently gone uniform color blind!!
4*==>BEARS +4
THIS TIME THEY DO IT! Only because in the Bears you have a very bad YOUNG team at home. In the Raiders you have a very floundering and confused OLD team on the road! Couple that with the gaping holes the Raider defense has means the A-Train should flourish in this game and time of possession should win the cover (if not outright) win for lowly Chicago. Raiders are toast here.
THAT IT AND HOPE EVERYONE CASHES IN TOMORROW!! Goldv[B]
