  • College World Series bats

My son is really into watching the college world series. Question: On every players bat is a ring/tape/band about mid-way up the bat where the barrel just starts. Can you tell us what this is and what it's for?

I used to put tape at the base of the barrel...I used it as a visual for where the barrel of the bat was...I also would put pine tar below it, so it served as a "dont go past here with the tar marker"

I'm gonna assume the different colored tape is just based on blending in with the general colors of the bat, but ultimately I think its just what kids are doing these days and most likely it helps them think about getting the sweet spot of the bat on the ball.

Its a two piece it acts like a hinge to get more energy transfer
from the handle to barrell for max whip .. more power...

If you r talkig about the black ring around the middle of the bat.......
