        Update

        ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
        Tips and Trends
        ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Boston Red Sox at Philadelphia Phillies [ESPN | 7:05 PM ET]

Red Sox: Bartolo Colon has added another solid arm to the Red Sox rotation, winning four of his five starts this season. Colon has allowed two runs or less in three of his starts, while recording 22 strikeouts in 29 innings of work. He's pitched well in his two road starts, going 2-0 with an ERA of 3.46. Colon, who has been known to be wild in the past, is demonstrating good control this season, giving up just seven walks.

Red Sox are 9-1 in the last 10 meetings.
Red Sox are 46-10 in their last 56 interleague games.

Key Injuries - OF Manny Ramirez (.301; hamstring) is questionable.

        PROJECTED SCORE: 4

Phillies (-165, O/U 9): Cole Hamels has been solid for the Phillies in 2008, although he's hit a wall of late, going 1-1 with three no-decisions in his last five starts. Hamels had a two-game stretch against the Astros and Marlins where he gave up 13 runs but he returned to form in his last two outings, allowing just two runs in 17 innings of work. The UNDER is 4-2 the last six times Hamels has taken the mound.

Phillies are 8-2 in their last 10 home games.
The UNDER is 11-2 in Philadelphia's last 13 games overall.

        Key Injuries - NONE

        PROJECTED SCORE: 5

Atlanta Braves at Colorado Rockies [8:05 PM ET]

Braves: Jair Jurrjens hasn't lost a game since May 12 but strong run support has helped the Braves overcome some poor outings from him over the last month. Jurrjens has allowed 18 runs over his last 32 innings pitched but Atlanta is 4-1 over that span. Jurrjens has been much better at home than on the road this season, where he's 1-3 with an ERA of 4.84. The OVER is 4-0 in Jurrjens' last four starts.

Braves are 2-7 in their last 9 games overall.
The UNDER is 21-6 in Atlanta's last 27 games as an underdog.

Key Injuries - RP Rafael Soriano (3 saves; elbow) is on the 15-day DL.

        PROJECTED SCORE: 3

Rockies (-120, O/U 9.5): Ubaldo Jimenez is winless in his last 10 starts, going 0-4 with six no-decisions. Jimenez pitched seven innings of shutout ball twice over that span but didn't factor in the decision after receiving no run support. The road hasn't been kind to Jimenez. He's 0-5 with an ERA of 6.75 in eight starts. Despite his struggles, the UNDER is 5-2 in Jimenez's last seven starts.

Rockies are 8-3 in their last 11 games on grass.
The OVER is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings.

        Key Injuries - NONE

PROJECTED SCORE: 6 (Side Play of the Day)

New York Mets at Los Angeles Angels [10:05 PM ET]

Mets: Mike Pelfrey hasn't recorded a win since April 15 but he's been extremely effective in his last three starts. Pelfrey has three no-decisions in those games but pitched well enough to win, allowing just four runs in 21 innings of work. Pelfrey has been lit up on the road, going 0-2 with a 7.20 ERA in four starts. The UNDER is 5-2 in Pelfrey's last seven starts.

Mets are 7-1 in their last 8 interleague games.
The OVER is 6-2-1 in New York's last 9 games as an underdog.

Key Injuries - OF Moises Alou (.347; calf) is on the 15-day DL.

        PROJECTED SCORE: 4

Angels (-150, O/U 8.5): Jared Weaver has been solid recently, going 4-1 over that span. In his last 31.1 innings of work, Weaver has allowed 13 runs, while giving out just seven walks. Weaver is an even 3-3 at home but does possess a solid 3.05 ERA and 1.08 WHIP in seven starts. Weaver is coming off one of his best performances of the season, giving up just one run over eight innings against a powerful Rays' lineup.

Angels are 7-2 in their last 9 games following a win.
Angels are 19-7 in their last 26 interleague games.

        Key Injuries - NONE

        PROJECTED SCORE: 5

Detroit Tigers at San Francisco Giants [10:15 PM ET]

Tigers: Justin Verlander is having a tough season but he's actually pitched pretty well over the last month. In his previous six starts, Verlander has allowed three runs or less five times and just a single run in three of those outing. As a matter of fact, Verlander has only allowed a total of 12 runs in his last 42 innings of work but is just 2-3 with one no decision over that span. The UNDER is 8-2 in Verlander's last 10 starts.

Tigers are 40-16 in their last 56 interleague games.
The UNDER is 8-1 in Detroit's last 9 interleague games.

Key Injuries - RP Fernando Rodney (shoulder) is expected to return.

PROJECTED SCORE: 2 (UNDER - Total Play of the Day)

Giants (-115, O/U 7): Young Tim Linecum has certainly lived up to the hype, going 8-1 with a minuscule 1.99 ERA. Linecum has been close to unhittable over his last three starts, allowing just two runs in 21 innings of work. However, he only recorded one win to go along with two no-decisions in those three games. The Giants have won four of the last five games overall with Linecum on the hill. Despite his dominance, the OVER is 6-2 in Linecum's last eight starts.

Giants are 3-13 in their last 16 home games.
Giants are 5-16 in their last 21 interleague games.

        Key Injuries - NONE

        PROJECTED SCORE: 3
