Saturday's Arena Football games:

Cleveland (8-6) @ Philadelphia (11-3)-- Soul's first loss of year was 67-55 in Cleveland six weeks ago, when Soul played on a Monday, then lost in Cleveland Friday. Gladiators are 3-4 on road, with losses by 39-7-17-10 points (4-3 as road dog.) Soul covered just one of last five as home favorite. Over is 10-4 in Philadelphia games this season.

Grand Rapids (4-10) @ Columbus (3-11)-- Rampage snapped a five-game skid last week, scoring 84 points at home; they're 1-5 on road, losing last five by 29-3-35-11-4 points (3-2 vs spread when favored). Destroyers lost seven of last eight games; they are 2-5 at home, with losses by 2-3-21-3 points. Under is 5-2-1 in last eight Grand Rapids games.

Chicago (10-4) @ Georgia (9-5)-- Red-hot Force won last six in row (5-1 vs spread); they won five of last six home games, are 3-0 vs spread in last three at home, winning last two home tilts by single point each. Chicago split last four games after an 8-2 start; they lost last two road games, scoring 44-48 points. Four of last five Chicago games stayed under the total.

New York (7-7) @ Dallas (11-3)-- Desperadoes are 4-3 since the bye that followed 7-0 start; they snuck by Dragons 33-31 back in Week 5 on Long Island (-11), as Dallas turned ball over four times (-3) but held NY to 156 total yards. Dragons won three of last four road games, after losing first three. Last five Dallas games all went over the total.

Tampa Bay (7-7) @ San Jose (9-5)-- Storm is 5-2 in last seven games, after 2-5 start; they covered last seven games, are 3-0 as road dog this season. SaberCats won last four games before last week's bye; they're 4-2 at home, 3-2 as home favorite, with wins by 20-28-10-17 points. Over is 3-0 in last three games for both sides.

Kansas City (3-11) @ Los Angeles (4-10)-- LA lost four in row and nine of 11 since a 2-0 start; they lost 65-56 Monday night in Utah, are 2-4 in last six home games. Quincy Carter is QB in Kansas City, long way from the Cowboys; Brigade covered 8 of last 11 games, four of last five- last week's 73-34 home loss to Arizona was their worst game in six weeks.

College football's worst seven teams in turnover ratio last yr:

-- Baylor, -18-- 11-85 in Big 12 play, they turn to Art Briles as new coach; he went 34-28 in five years at Houston.

-- Nebraska, -17-- Scored 163 points in their last three games last season, lost two of three; Bo Pelini is the new coach.

-- Northern Illinois, -17-- 21 starters back, had ton of injuries last year; new coach Jerry Kill has shot at a quantum leap.

-- NC State, -16-- Have only ten starters back, but since they were 8-16 the last two years, maybe thats a good thing.

-- New Mexico State, -15-- Seven starters back on both sides of ball; we know they'll score, but can they stop anyone?

-- Minnesota, -15-- Only win last year was in OT; they were outgained by 108 ypg in conference play. Good luck.

-- Florida International, -15-- 1-23 the last two years; they'll be better this season, but are breaking in a new QB.

13) Time for mainstream media to stop hating on interleague play; every game can't be Bronx-Boston, people. Realignment of the major leagues would be the best thing, but no one with big league has the onions try something different. Interleague play, at least, gives us fresh matchups. Thats a good thing.

12) Phillies are only major league team to use only five starting pitchers this season. White Sox used a sixth starter in just one game, so you can see stability lends itself to winning.

11) Hiroki Kuroda's last three starts for the Dodgers:
-- 2.2 IP, six runs at New York Mets
-- 9 IP, no runs, no walks, 11 strikeouts vs Cubs
-- 2.1 IP, six runs at San Diego.
Not a lot of consistency; he's been terrible on the road.

10) Pirates are 16-8 in last 24 home games; solid job being done by John Russell in his first season with Bucs. They will need to do lot better on the road, but at least they're improved.

9) Adrian Gonzalez leads NL in RBI, while playing for team that scores the least runs; no one has done that for an entire year since 1935, so an impressive thing Gonzalez is trying to do.

8) Number of NBA titles Kobe Bryant has since he got Shaq traded to Miami: zero.

7) WTBS relentlessly promoted the Bill Engvall Show during the early rounds of NBA playoffs, so when do they put it on for first time this season? Opposite Game 4 of the NBA Finals. In my neighborhood, this is called shtoooopid.

6) You get the idea David Stern will be relieved when this NBA season is over, so he can get on to really important stuff, like avoiding questions about referees, screwing Seattle out of the Super Sonics and finding good restaurants in Europe.

5) By the way, the NBA Draft is less than two weeks away, and there is no clue as to who #3 pick will be after Rose/Beasley or Beasley/Rose go 1-2. Bulls have the first big decision.

4) Sean McDonough is the most underrated and underused TV guy we've heard. Very solid, not full of himself. We'd like it if ESPN gave him a more prominent role, but ESPN seems stuck on guys who are full of themselves. Not sure why. .

3) The New York media couldn't wait to get rid of Art Howe, as Howe is a bland, yet friendly man who is a solid manager but isn't "New York-enough". Well guess what? Willie Randolph is from New York, but he makes Howe look like Carrot Top. It isn't illegal to argue calls and show players you have their back

2) Say a prayer for the people in Iowa; whole towns are under water there, not a good thing.
