I lost last night with the Cardinals.
1* Cubs +128
M y goal is to avoid National League teams at all costs in interleague play but there's no way a streak player like me can resist the Cubs at this price. True, they are much better at home but Sean Gallagher is having a decent year and Toronto is cold. There are negatives to this play: the Cubs bullpen is spent, they're under .500 on the road and the AL is far superior to the NL. But the price is right on the team with the best record in baseball.
1* Rangers/Mets OVER 9 1/2 (-105)
You see that 0-1 on totals in my record above? I somehow managed to pick the one game Texas DIDN't go over. Still, the Rangers have gone over 10 of their last 12. The Rangers offense is almost unstoppable, Oliver Perez has been shaky and the Mets offense has shown life since the return to Shea.
1* Red Sox +110
Even though Boston is astonishingly schizo this year---unbeatable at home and awful on the road----we have a top AL team against a weak NL team. I REALLY like Boston's Masterson and Cincy's Harang is coming off several weak starts. Look for Boston to build on the momentum from the Fenway homestand and finally get a win on the road.
