I broke even Sunday in my last baseball post, winning with a fave and losing with a dog. One of my two favorite handicapping angles in baseball is to play hot teams when they are dogs. I've got one tonight.
1* Cardinals +125
St. Luois has won four in a row and is one of the few teams in baseball this year to have a winning record on the road (an excellent 19-14). That makes this one a play as the pitching matchup is even and Cincy is, well, a bad team in a good division. Pineiro is only a fair pticher but Bronson Arroyo is just getting shelled and the Reds are only 6-8 in his starts. I know the Cards are without Pujols but they still have a strong lineup and have scored 30 runs in their last four games.

A's (The Yankees are a last place team, you know).

After getting smacked on a big play on the Lakers Tuesday, I'm passing tonight's game but I still think LA has a blowout in its system. I'll throw a few pennies on it but don't like to chase losers.
