Gregg Popovich had ZERO head coaching experience. Popovich was highly criticized when he fired Spurs head coach Bob Hill in mid-season, naming himself as Hill's replacement. Popovich's record that year as an interim coach for the Spurs was 17-47. The rest is history.Comment

Good point Frank. It may work out, you never know. Plus, coaching in the NBA is overated. Funny how the guys who have the best players become the great coaches.
They all run variations of the same plays. The key is to match the style of play to the type of talent you have.

Why will this guy not even get mentioned? He was a great point guard, is now a great analyst and is young enough that layers would respect him.
