    Relief Pitchers ....

MLB needs a ton of them ....

It is atrocious that these guys are getting paid this kind of money and can not pitch an innning without giving up runs ...

PAPI---I put a lots of emphasis on the BP stats for ecah team, as they pitch 1/3 of the game.....you're right, how many pitchers have had great games going into the 7th, or through the 7th, only to be pulled, and watch the RP's blow it.......

I don't bet on teams that have terrible BP's, one of the main reasons they have lost as many games as they have....

Look at your front runners, compare BP ERA, wha laa.....they coincide......

          Strong BP teams are
          Phillie 2.7.............B Avg Team 264
          Toronto 2.9..........................262
          C W Sox 2.9.........................249
          Dodgers 3.0..........................265
          A'a 3.2.................................255
          Cubs 3.2..............................285
          Braves 3.3............................276
          O's 3.3.................................250

Must be careful with those that have weak batting avgs vs the good BP ERA's.........

          Weak BP teams
          Pitt 6.0............BA 259.........good over....depends on SP ERA
          Fla 5.4.............BA 258.........good over
          Texas 5.4..............284........good over
          Det 5.2.................260
          Cards 5.0..............286........good over

these figures are a couple days old, but close enough to get the Idea......

I know what you mean Verne..........

Joe, baseball has destroyed the art of complete games. They baby starters. They put them on pitch counts. In the 60s and 70s it was rare for a starter not to pitch into 7th or 8th inning. Now it's rare for a starter to pitch into the 7th or 8th. It's frustrating watching a starter throw a master piece only to have the "setup man" blow the game.

                Exactly Frank ....

I would love to know how many games are completed by the starting pitcher ...

Expecially if your kid is left handed. You don't even have to be a geat pitcher if you are left handed. But I guess that would defeat the purpose of what you want.
                      Good Luck to everyone

                      Clark: What's steroids?
Richie: Something that makes your pee-pee smaller.
Clark: There must be steroids in macaroni!
