  • Barry Bonds to the Red Sox!?!?

"If the Red Sox are going to repeat as world champions this season and win their third title in five years, they may have to do it without David Ortiz.
After injuring his left wrist during the Red Sox’ victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday night, Ortiz learned yesterday he has ligament damage that will keep him sidelined indefinitely. According to a source, Ortiz’ wrist will be immobilized for roughly the next month to determine whether the injury can heal on its own.
If it cannot, the Red Sox and Ortiz very well may face a harsh reality: Season-ending surgery."

Wow sox fans... Bonds could be alllllllllllllllllllll yours!

Bringing it back from the dead wayner! I would personally love to see Bonds in Boston. Without Ortiz in the lineup, manny will have nobody around him? Seriously, Youkilus? They need Bonds more than Bonds needs them. Its a win, win situation for boston if they get him

Youkilis has been great in the 3 hole every time Ortiz has been out. Besides Doc, Manny hit behind Ortiz and it wasn't like big papi hit behind him to protect him in the lineup. It never happened so how exactly does it hurt Manny? Manny has been hitting just fine the last few days w/out him. Boston has a very deep bench, including 4 starting OF's. Drew, Ramirez, Lowell and others will take their turn in the DH role and it will be a nice option for Francona to use it to give guys a break from playing the field. Papi played better in May than April but overall, he wasn't hitting for average at all. He wasn't "Right" all year. They will see what it looks like in a month and if he is out for the season after that, they may go out and pickup a bat for added depth but that is about it. Brandon Moss was playing great before his emergency surgery and J. Lowrie was also playing great before Cora came back and he was sent down. Boston has a ton of depth and i'm not really worried about it. If you want to know the truth, i'm more concerned with Matsuzaka. Then again, they have a ton of starting pitching depth too. Colon (3-0)? Why didn't the Yanks take a flyer on him?? Life is good ........

Colon will come back down to earth...He's pitching way above his head right now. Trust me, without Ortiz's presence in the lineup up, it will hurt them. Just look at Arod when he was gone for a month. Now the team is starting to hit with him, but the yanks pitching has been imploding.

Wang and Pettitte have not been themselves
Mussina is coming back to earth

That only leaves RAsner who has done really well, but hasnt gotten any run support in his last 2 starts and now the The Joba starts tonight.

The Yankees are very old Doc, no comparison. Unlike you and your young pitchers who can't find the plate, Boston has guys like Buchholz who is healthy again and Masterson just waiting in the wings if Colon falls apart. Schilling should also be healthy and back after the all star break at some point.

Comparing this Yankees team to the DEFENDING WORLD CHAMPIONS in any way is a joke!

Should i list ALL the injuries Boston has suffered as well this year Doc? Lowell, Ortiz, Drew, Schilling, Matsuzaka, Buchholz. Should i go on or get you a crying towel? Injuries are part of the game and i know that.

The Yankees were only 2 games behind them when the 07' season ended and that is closer than 4. They still won the WS and your Yankees didn't. What's your point???

That's why the best TEAM usually wins and not the team with the best 5 individuals!!!
