Kenny Rogers tries to improve upon his amazing success at McAfee Coliseum this evening, when the Detroit Tigers play the first of three games against the Oakland Athletics. In his last 41 starts at McAfee, Rogers is an incredible 23-1 with a 3.16 earned run average. That mark also includes a perfect 15-0 clip in the park while pitching for the A's from 1998-99. He is 25-4 lifetime in the building with a 3.46 ERA in 56 games, 45 of which have been starts. Rogers also leads all active pitchers with 21 wins against Oakland and is 7-0 in his last eight starts against the A's.The 43-year-old left-hander had his best outing of the season in his last trip to the hill, which came last Monday against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.Rogers, who is 4-4 with a 5.88 ERA on the season, scattered five hits over seven scoreless innings but did not receive a decision in his team's 1-0 loss.
