Kimbo was TOTALLY UNIMPRESSIVE imo. I can't believe how bad a fighter he is on the ground. He has no game down there and he was clearly losing that fight until the dudes ear burst open. That ear was fucken freaky and disgusting!!!

The women's fight ended up being one of the best!!!

For all the "HYPE" built around Kimbo, he no doubt came up short in his expectations tonight. His last resort in this fight was to pull a Mike Tyson and "Go for the Ear". Luckily for Kimbo, it worked. I'm not sure if the next guy he fights will have cauliflower ear but i know damn well whoever it is, they are going to try and fight Kimbo on the floor after watching this fight tonight ... and they should until he proves he can fight down there!

Watched Kimbo's first EliteXC fight the other night, and it looked like the dude took a dive. EliteXC definitely favors it's meal ticket winning right now

that was the worst night in the history of MMA. Thank you EliteXC for setting the sport back 15 years. Dancing girls, shitty hip-hop music, "thug style" everywhere...

Every single fight was a clusterfuck... the commentators lied out their ass left right and center overhyping everything... editing mistakes left right and centre... complete trash.

First two fights were MASSIVE early stoppages to make TV time, clearly fixed. Even if you don't see that as fight fan, you can see it in the way Gary Shaw talked to the fighters after, and the way Phil Baroni in particular was COMPLETELY stone-faced about the stoppage. He just didn't care--why? Because he knew the fight would be stopped early anyway.

Then the third fight, which was shaping up to be interesting, is ALSO stopped early due to a cut UNDER THE EYE. UNDER THE EYE. CLEARLY a call by CBS because of the potential for blood and further violence--cuz y'know, you don't want violence in mixed martial arts.

Then the title fight, which was shaping up to EASILY be the fight of the night and would've saved an otherwise shitty show, with Scott Smith showing a true warrior's spirit and getting the fans to rally behind him... Then he gets an unfortunate eyepoke, and that dumbass doctor who clearly isn't qualified to be a fight doctor AT ALL stops the fight, rather than giving Smith the time he needed to blink it off and keep fighting. Absolute bullshit.

Then the main event, which SHOULD'VE come second to Lawler/Smith, was an even bigger clusterfuck. Had it followed the pattern of the rest of the night, the fight would've been stopped and Kimbo would've LOST, he ate a DOZEN unanswered elbows on the ground, and you could just picture that crook Gary Shaw pleading the ref not to stop the fight--

There's a reason why the UFC is #1. After tonight the UFC is to WWE as Elite XC is to backyard wrestling.

Not a knock on any of the fighters, but the whole show was ugly

I caught the last 3 fights. The women had the best of them all. Constant action in that 1.

The Lawlor fight had its moments but I can see why they are not in the UFC. All lawlor is is a streetfighter. Anyone with a true MMA background would have submitted the other guy when they had him hurt the way he did. The best part was the post fight interviews with the both of them. They sounded like a couple of mentally challanged clients in a group home. Was it just me or was lawlor wearing Barry Bonds skull?? Looks like they filled his head with helium.

Kimbo orange Slice is a farce. He should have lost when he was down on the ground & not defending himself in the 2nd round. If that was the UFC, it would have been stopped. he's a Tyson, if he doesnt knock you out within 45 seconds, he's done. He has no ground game that can stop a real MMA fighter. This soup can was beating the hell out of him on the ground & took him done pretty easily. Have to give some props to Slice though, he fought a guy with an alien on the side of his head. I'd like to see Frank Mir fight him & submit him. The carnival will end quickly once he gets beat.

I watched last night and agree that the 2nd fight was stopped way too early. The guy was still defending himself and fighting hard when the stoppage came. Hence why MMA should stay on cable where the ratings are more important than the FCC.

The first fight I think that Roger's opponent was well outmatched and the ref was right to stop it when he did or the fight would have gotten ugly super quick possibly ending in a bad injury.

The girl fight was really good and was very impressed as I havent seen women's MMA before. I was indifferent to the decision to stop the fight as the loser was not defending herself well enough at the end of the round. If they had come out for a 3rd round Carano would have won the fight within 30 seconds.

4th fight...Best all around fight of the night with a stupid ending. A real fight doctor would have listened to the fighter that he wanted more time to try and blink off and recover. Then retested him at the end of the allowable timelimit. Why the hell would a fight doctor shine a light in a fighter's eye only 40 seconds after he got a finger shoved in it? That doctor should have their pink slip handed to them as they're kicked out the door. Rematch may be quite fun if a fluke doesnt happen again.

Kimbo Slice got his ass handed to him in the 2nd round. However...even though he eats tons of damage at the end of the round he is defending himeself to the best of his ability the whole time. He's keeping his head tucked in and using his free arm (remember that Thompsen had arm control and side mount position) to try and fend off as much as he could. Needless to say his inexperience on the ground was evident because he could have done more to escape than he had. Also...At the very start of the 3rd round it's very obvious that Kimbo has a lot left in the tank. Without that cauliflower ear busting whichever fighter won round 3 would have won the fight. I think a judges decision after 3 would have been very telling about EliteXC if Kimbo had obviously lost the round and they awarded him the victory.

All-in-all...

A bad night for MMA. The first 2 fights were a bust. 1 stoppage because of poor officiating and a main event where it was pretty obvious that the company was pushing one side. Only 1 good fight in the whole mix and that was the women's fight.
